From Karma To Christ By Pastor Mahesh Shivnani
Introduction
I will start off by making it clear that this is a one-sided book. It is my experience, my point of view, my pain, my struggles, my conclusions, my fears, my justification to MY actions, and of course if there is any doubt, Me, Myself, and I as the main protagonist and antagonist. Anyone involved in this story might have another take on any of the stories mentioned here, but even if I am wrong in anything I have written, it is once again my exposition of the events and feelings I encountered.
By no means do I consider myself a victim or a saint of any sort, but rather an example of how the fallen nature of man is stubborn, arrogant, and selfish in need of redemption from self-destruction. If anything, at the end of this book, I trust you will take me as an example of what things to avoid in life and see God´s mighty hand of love and grace upon me as He gives me a second chance to follow Him.
Taking on the role of a writer, I desired to compose this short literary piece from a non-bias point of view about God so as not to discourage non-Christian believers from reading ahead. The idea was to be able to reach as many souls as possible from every creed, cast, and culture with the knowledge and understanding about God. I was actually trying to lure readers to swim deeper and deeper with curiosity as a fish is lured in through the bait, invariably finding itself hooked and being pulled towards the surface of the waters where death awaits. Yes, death……death to ourselves and our natural desires which is the final result and purpose of being one in mind and thought with God. Ironically, this is precisely what Jesus says in the Bible when he calls Peter and Andrew to join Him in the ministry. “And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. And they straightway left their nets, and followed him.” (Matthew 4:19-20).
Therefore I will start by addressing to our readers that every time I mention the name of God, I am directly referring to the God of the Bible. The Word of God (Bible) says that “you shall know the truth and the Truth shall set you free”. So now in a manner of speaking, you have known the truth about this book and have been set free to either stop or continue down this life-changing experience. The sooner you are confronted with this decision the easier it will be for you to soak in the truth about God and who He is.
I do sincerely encourage you to continue your quest to find out the truth about God and our responsibility as humans towards Him. There is too much to lose if you make the wrong decision regarding your after-life and the destiny of your eternal soul. Sure, many may teach that no matter what decision you make, eventually all of us end up in the same place. Are you sure about that?
Are you willing to put your eternal soul in jeopardy by believing what you have been told or taught through tradition or religion? God does not excuse our ignorance regarding the knowledge of Him, nor are we exempt from the eternal consequences of our decisions made either for Him or against Him during our lifetime. Remember, there are no second chances once you are dead, and the Bible clearly states that “Do not be fooled, God will not be mocked.”
