Close Enough To Hear God

(Hebrews 11:7) “By faith Noah, when warned about things not yet seen, reverently prepared an ark to save his family, and by faith he condemned the world and inherited the righteousness that comes by faith.”

(2 Chronicles 7:14) “when my people humble themselves—the ones who are called by my name—and pray, seek me, and turn away from their evil practices, I myself will listen from heaven, I will pardon their sins, and I will restore their land.”

God is always speaking to us. He knows we need to hear Him and that without His counsel we will be lost and without hope. The problem is that we are so busy and tied to religious traditions, that we are not close enough to hear him. The essence of Christianity is not the blessings, healings, prosperity, peace, and miracles. These are all expressions of God´s love for us in order to bring Him glory and let others see how good He is to us.

The whole purpose why Christ went to the cross was to destroy the works of Satan, and by doing so, He restored our communication back with God. So the true beauty of accepting Jesus in our hearts is to be able to communicate with God, to hear and understand His voice, to be guided on the path to prosper, and to be warned against dangers in life for us or our loved ones. But in order to receive these instructions and warnings, we need to be close to Him. Attending church, singing songs, paying tithes, or serving others is not enough. All religions do these activities for their idols and gurus.

What separates us from the rest is that we can get close enough to God ON OUR OWN! We can become completely transparent before Him, and still feel His love and receive instructions for an abundant life. There needs to be a time of prayer alone with him, a time of meditating on the Word alone with Him, a time of just pouring out your heart alone with Him, and He loves that alone time with you.

I believe that the brokenness of the heart is a clear sign that you have been alone with Jesus, not signs and wonders, anointed preaching, or a massive following, though all these things also accompany a prayer-based life.

(“Do you live close enough to God to hear His warnings when danger is present? Noah did, and he saved his entire family! Are you close enough to your family for them to have confidence in what God has spoken to you? You can literally change the direction of your whole family without argument or discussion – through prayer. Your loved ones need to be sheltered under the covering of your prayer life.” – Bob Gass)

We’re emotionally unbalanced and spiritually weak because we have not learned the power of clearly communicating with God.

Prayers

• Jesus, You are the Son of the Blessed, Son of man, Son who has been made perfect forever.
• We thank You God, for restoring our communication back with You through the blood of Jesus.
• Thank You that You desire to speak with us, guide us, and warn us from danger.
• Forgive us for not taking the time to get close to You, and for not learning to listen to Your voice.
• Thank You for the warnings we have in Your Word and we ask that You will increase our ability to hear You.
• Let us be like Noah, who did not listen to what everyone else said, and was able to save his family.
• Give us a heart to pray, an ear to hear and the boldness to obey.

• We ask in Jesus’ Mighty name. Amen
