“Get out There”

(Isaiah 6:8) “Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.”

(Matthew 17:4) “Then answered Peter, and said unto Jesus, ‘Lord, it is good for us to be here: if thou wilt, let us make here three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias.’”

(Matthew 5:13-14) “You are the salt of the world. But if the salt should lose its taste, how can it be made salty again? It’s good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled on by people. You are the light of the world. A city located on a hill can’t be hidden.”

God has only one reason for filling you, and that’s for pouring you out. It is not enough to be a Christian within the Church walls. It is time to get out of our comfort zone. What we receive from God when we gather with other believers is to be used to impact all others around us.

I see too many believers that are very active and outspoken within the church, however, they act like scared sheep when they step out into the streets. They can pray up a storm and end up giving a mini-sermon while they are at it, but they don’t have the boldness to preach in the streets and give their testimony.

It’s normal to feel comfortable and safe amongst believers and others that agree with your beliefs and way of doing things. Even the disciples preferred to be alone with Jesus up on the mountain and stay enjoying His presence as long as possible. But Jesus made them go back down to the village as there were still a lot of lost souls to reach out to. You can receive all the power you desire by spending quality time with Jesus and His Word, but you need to share that power with the hurting world around you.

Think about it… Christianity is the only faith that puts a burden on our shoulders to share the good news of salvation through Jesus with the whole world. God did not choose you to know His power and experience His presence, just for your enjoyment, but rather to become an instrument for Him to use for other lost souls. He has called us, and we have answered, but the calling does not stop with our salvation and our blessings.

Remember, Christ said we are the salt and the light of the world. Let’s become all that we can be. It’s not enough to focus on what Christ can do FOR you, but start to seek what He can do THROUGH You.

• Jesus, You maintain my lot, You are my portion in the land of the living, the guide of my youth.
• Thank You, Lord, that we can experience and enjoy Your presence.
• Thank You, for filling us with Your love and showing us Your glory.
• Forgive us for not understanding the fullness of our calling. For not seeing that we are being transformed in order to transform others with Your Word.
• Forgive us for being afraid of what unbelievers will say, and for trying to avoid rejection.
• Give us the ability to share the gospel in every situation and to be used by You to transform lives.
• We want to be the salt of the earth and to fulfill Your will for us.

• We ask in Jesus’ Mighty Name. Amen
