Don´t Stop Trying

(1 Corinthians 3:6-7) “I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase. So then neither is he that plants anything, neither he that waters; but God that gives the increase.”

(Isaiah 41:10) “Don’t be afraid. I am with you. Don’t tremble with fear. I am your God. I will make you strong, as I protect you with my arm and give you victories.”

(2 Timothy 1:7) “For God gave us not a spirit of fearfulness; but of power and love and discipline.”

The worst thing you can do is to give up after a few failures or not try at all because of the fear of failing again. If you are worried about a negative outcome, then you probably don’t have what it takes to succeed in life. There is nothing wrong with keeping things always simple and always making a safe choice. However, this attitude is not born out of wisdom but rather fear of failure.

Christ was rejected because He was bold enough to do what God asked Him to do without worrying about the results. Actually, if you were to see the immediate outcome of His three years of ministry on earth, it was a complete failure. The same people that He fed, healed, set free from spiritual oppression, and revealed the secrets of God’s kingdom to, were most of the ones that left Him alone when He was crucified.

From the thousands that followed Him, less than two hundred were faithfully waiting for the Holy Spirit in Jerusalem as Christ had instructed them to. It was not until years later that we saw the true impact His life made on the world and how it continues to change lives today.

Rudyard Kipling, the author of “The Jungle Book” and winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature, received a rejection letter from a local newspaper saying, “Sorry, Mr. Kipling, but you just don’t know how to use the English language.” Albert Einstein couldn’t speak until he was four and couldn´t read until he was seven. His teachers went as far as calling him “mentally slow.” Michael Jordan was cut off from his high school basketball team when he was just a teenager and went on to become one of the greatest players in the history of the NBA.

No one is expecting you to be perfect or successful the first time, so don’t be scared of falling and getting back up as many times as necessary. God is the one that brings the increase, all we do is continue trying and obeying Him.

You should be less worried about failing and more about what you will answer God for not trying at all.

• Heavenly Father, You pity those who fear You, as the father pities his children. You have not dealt with us according to our sins nor You have punished us according to our iniquities. As far as the east is from the west, so You have removed our transgressions from us.
• Thank You, Father, that we are guaranteed victory in every area of life if we continue to walk in Your ways.
• Forgive us for fearing failure, and what others will say.
• Forgive us for not even trying and believing that You will be upset with us if we fail.
• We cancel right now the spirit of Fear and receive the Spirit of love, power, and sound mind.
• We ask that we will have the courage to step out by faith and know that no matter what the outcome, You can change all things in our favor.
• Keep us close to You so we can clearly hear Your instructions and be an example for others to follow.

• We ask in Jesus’ Mighty Name. Amen.
