(Micah 7:7-9) “But as for me, I will look to the LORD; I will wait for the God who will deliver me. My God will hear me. Don’t be glad on my account, my enemy. When I fall, I’ll get up. Though I sit in darkness, the LORD is a light for me.”
“I will endure the LORD’s anger—since I have sinned against him—until he takes over my defense, administers justice on my behalf, and brings me out to the light, where I will gaze on his righteousness.”
Failure can be a fact or just an opinion based on what you do with it. You can either sit down to curse yourself for the mistakes in the past or learn from them. You can actually learn more from someone’s mistakes than from their achievements. I could probably write a book mentioning all the failures in my life or just how I should have done things differently. Actually in my autobiography “From Karma 2 Christ”, I do mention some of the wrong choices in my life that made me face complete shame and failure.
But when we are walking with Christ, failure and shame is not the end, but an opportunity to see God’s love through the whole process. Even if we have willfully been disobedient, after a time of reaping what we have sown during that time or rebellion, we have hope for a brighter future. God is just, and even though He shows His anger for a season, we will be able to endure it as we continue to trust in His love for us.
No matter what things we are suffering because of our failure to do what is right at the right moment, we can always look to the Lord to pull us through and trust that He will hear our cry for help. We might have been deceived and tricked by the devil for most of our life, but God has the ability to restore all things back to us.
Maybe you took too long to get in shape due to depression or just being too busy with work, maybe you did not apply yourself in your studies the way you should have, or you did not save money in your time of abundance for the times of difficulties. No matter what, once again I remind you that you can either live life regretting the past or learn from it and change your future.
After Thomas Edison conducted 50,000 experiments in his search for natural rubber, he said “We have had wonderful results! We know now 50,000 things that won’t work; soon we’ll find the one that does.”
The same crowd that laughed at your failure in the past, will give glory to God when you rise above your shame and continue to change lives around you.
Prayers
• Heavenly Father, You are He who fills all in all. He who can satiate the weary soul and replenish every sorrowful soul. You are the saving refuge of Your anointed.
• Thank You, Father, that you are our light in our darkest times.
• Thank You, that Your love for us strengthens us to endure any hardship or failure in life.
• Forgive us for having sinned against You and we ask for the endurance to suffer Your anger for the appointed season.
• We ask for Your mercy and that You take over our defense so that we can gaze upon Your righteousness.
• We declare that our enemy will see us rise up again in victory.
• We cancel right now any words of condemnation we have spoken over us in depression or regret because of our failures in the past.
