God Can Use A Coward

(Judges 6:11-12) One day an angel from the LORD went to the town of Ophrah and sat down under the big tree that belonged to Joash, a member of the Abiezer clan. Joash’s son Gideon was nearby, threshing grain in a shallow pit, where he could not be seen by the Midianites. The angel appeared and spoke to Gideon, “The LORD is helping you, and you are a strong warrior.”

(1 Corinthians 1:27-28) “But God chose the foolish things of this world to put the wise to shame. He chose the weak things of this world to put the powerful to shame. What the world thinks is worthless, useless, and nothing at all is what God has used to destroy what the world considers important.”

No matter who you are or what you have achieved in life so far, God knows exactly how to humble you. He can take it all away in one shot, and completely wipe out everything you have sacrificed your life for. This is the God of the Bible.

However, He can also change your negative situation into a positive one. He takes pride in using cowards, hopeless individuals, and failures to do great and mighty things. All He requires from you is to give Him the glory in all that you achieve in life.

We read how He called Gideon a mighty man of valor when Gideon was hiding from the Midianites. God declared him a mighty military leader, and that is exactly what Gideon did. He defeated an army of 135,000 with only 300 chosen men. God spoke it, and God did it.

No matter what you think about yourself or what others have said in the past, God will do with you what He has planned and everyone who ever spoke against you will be brought to shame. They will have to bow down to the name of Jesus and confess that He is Lord.

If you think you are weak, He will use you to destroy the mighty; if you think you are foolish, He will use you to bring confusion to the wise; if you think you are small in society or rejected because of your poverty, He will use you to achieve great things with very little money and open doors for you that were shut for the wealthy. He will show you favor to the point of having you sit with government ministers and royalty.

He does all these things because the smaller you are, the greater Jesus wants to shine through you.

• You are the God that takes the failures and makes them triumph over all.
• Thank you that You take the ones rejected by the world and can use them to do great wonders.
• Forgive us for taking pride and credit for all the things You have allowed us to achieve. Help us to bring glory to Your name and You alone from this day forth.
• We reject all the negative words spoken against us due to our mistakes or lack of faith, and we receive the promises you have spoken to us through Jesus.
• Help us to depend on Your strength to do all things, and let everyone see how great You are within us.
• We declare that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. We are victorious not by might, nor by power, but by the Spirit of the Lord.
