(Hebrews 11:15-16) âIf they had been thinking about what they had left behind, they would have had an opportunity to go back. Instead, they were longing for a better country, that is, a heavenly one. That is why God is not ashamed to be called their God, because he has prepared a city for them.â
(Luke 9:62) âJesus told him, âNo one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for the kingdom of God.â”

Have you ever gone too far? Too far with your words, or actions that no matter what you do, the past will not be erased? No matter how many times you ask for forgiveness, the relationship will never be the same? Unfortunately, this is true for most of us, and our human mind cannot easily erase past feelings, or the pain given to or received by others.
But when we have gone too far or too deep with our dedication to God, this is actually a good thing. One can never out-give, out love, or out-sacrifice God. It is actually to our benefit to be so involved and radical with our Christian walk that taking a step back becomes difficult.
Have you heard the phrase âpoint of no returnâ? It is commonly used to determine a point in time or distance after which there is no undoing what is done and that we can only move forward. It sounds very negative, right? But the âpoint of no returnâ in Godâs path is a very positive thing for our spiritual walk.
When we have been in the streets evangelizing, singing in the worship team, preaching from a pulpit, or being involved more and more in the things of God, there will come a point when we cannot simply stop and go back to our old sinful ways.
First, we cannot let down those that are depending on us to continue serving in the Kingdom. Second, we cannot exchange the presence of God for a moment of pleasure once we have tasted the goodness of the Lord. And third, we cannot become a bad witness by having those that have seen us proclaim Christ, now denounce Him by our actions.
This last result is something God does not take lightly. Therefore, continue deeper in your walk with Christ to the âpoint of no returnâ, only then will you be safe and not tempted to let go of the gift of Salvation.
I love quoting a song by DC Talk that says âWhat would people say when they hear that Iâm a Jesus freak, what would people do when they find out its true?â

(âWhen you follow God, not everybody will go with you; your vision or calling can be their nightmare. Often, the first place youâll feel this will be at home, just like it happened with Joseph or Jesus.â â Bob Gass)

Prayers
⢠Heavenly Father, You are the God who answers prayers. The God of the hills and valleys, God of the whole earth.
⢠Keep us safe from the temptations in the world that attract us to fall back on our promise to follow Jesus as our Lord.
⢠Thank You that we are no longer slaves to sin and through the Holy Spirit have the strength to live a righteous life.
⢠Forgive us, if we have decided to work for Your kingdom and keep on looking back to the pleasures we had when we were entangled in the world.
⢠Keep us aware of our testimony to all that know us now that we have been following You. We ask that we reach the point of no return, where leaving Your ways, or doing less for Your kingdom will no longer be an option.
⢠We declare that we will be faithful till the end and receive our reward.
â˘
⢠We ask in Jesusâ Mighty Name. Amen.
