(Jeremiah 29:12-13) “When you call out to me and come and pray to me, I’ll hear you. You will seek me and find me when you search for me with all your heart.”
(Luke 5:15-16) “But the news about Jesus spread even more, and many crowds began gathering to hear him and to be healed of their diseases. However, he continued his habit of retiring to deserted places and praying.”

Have you heard the song “The Cat’s in the Cradle”? It talks about a boy desiring to spend time with his father, but the father is always busy with meetings and trying to establish a business. His father promises him that he will find some time for the boy and they will have a good time then. Years go by and the father grows old and wants to spend time with his son. The son tells him he is too busy with the kids, work, and other things, that maybe he will find some time for the father and they will have a good time then.
Sadly this is the reality of life and how most of us grew up and continue this same vicious cycle of having our priorities focused on the gain of material things. My grandfather always used to say “Where two eat, three can eat.” What he meant was that we had completely become wasters of our time and resources by becoming too busy doing things individually. He was right.
The joint family mentality was the key to success for his generation that survived wars, exodus, and political overthrows. Due to the worldwide pandemic of 2020, many were forced to once more live in joint family situations in order to face the economic crisis that followed.
Jesus was probably the busiest minister ever to live. He would get so worn out by all the people that constantly surrounded him needing a miracle that He even slept through a storm that made expert fishermen fear for their lives. But no matter how busy He got, He made it a point to get alone and spend time in prayer with the Heavenly Father.
God says, to find Him while He might be found. That means that every chance you get to spend alone with God is precious and life-changing. Maybe what you think you will achieve through prayer is not as important to you, as what you can achieve in the natural?
Â
Are you stronger and better than Jesus? Or is what you are busy with more important than what Jesus did during His ministry?

Prayers
• Heavenly Father, you are the Father who is going to give the Kingdom with good pleasure. The living God, loving God, the God of love and peace.
• Forgive us Jesus for being too busy to spend time with you on a daily basis. Let us no longer put you aside and hurry to please man and our commitments to the world.
• We need your help to put things in the right order in our lives. Help us to see the value and profit of spending time with you in prayer.
• We want to closeness that Jesus had with you while here on earth. We want the commitment Jesus had with you in prayer, regardless of how much work was still to be done.
• Give us a sign Lord to encourage us to pray more and spend more time with you alone. Let us return to our first love. We need you Jesus to become oh so real to us. We are desperate for you.
• Let us not become so cold and distant that we will think it is too late to go back to you. Revive us once more, and fill us with your Holy Spirit again today.
•
• We ask in Jesus’ Mighty Name. Amen
