Want to Succeed?

(Joshua 1:8)  “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.”

(Isaiah 48:17-18)  “This is what the LORD says, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: ‘I am the LORD your God, who teaches you how to succeed, who directs you in the path by which you should go. Now if only you had paid attention to my commandments! Then your peace would have been like a river, and your success like the waves of the sea.’”

(Proverbs 10:22)  “The blessing of the LORD establishes wealth, and difficulty does not accompany it.”

(Psalms 103:2)  “Bless the LORD, My soul, and never forget any of his benefits:”

Before we even attempt to understand how to be successful, we have to define which success we want to achieve, the one according to God or men?  They are both similar in some areas, but completely different in their foundation.  One defines success as material gain, joy, family life, riches, comfort, having servants and storehouses, giving to the poor abundantly, and having a financial stability that will maintain your children and grandchildren…etc  The other, actually, there is no other definition of success. This is exactly what God wants for you and what men also desire.

The difference is that the success man runs after is not under God’s guidance, nor obeying God’s commandments, nor is God given the credit for that success.  This self-sufficient and independent mindset is even seen amongst Christians, who do not give back to God in the form of Tithes and offerings, thus not acknowledging that He is the one who first gives us all things and teaches us to prosper.

When we tend to forget God and His benefits, we will always blame Him for the things we don’t have or are taken away from us, and blame Him for not giving us what we want, when we want, and the way we want it

However, the success that comes from heaven is first of all ordained by God, used by Him to first bless you and then others in need, it is gained under the stamp of honesty and hard work, it does not bring any sorrow with it or controversy, its impact does not end when you die, God gives it and takes it away without leaving you bitter, and it is directly gained by obedience to His commandments.   The added bonus, and probably the most important one, is that you will not risk losing your soul and end up in hell if you achieve success God’s way.

Every successful man that has prospered without God, will probably have something to hide or be ashamed of. And if he shows any kind of compassion towards the poor, it will be to make themselves great and not God.

You can become the richest man in the world, but if you have not gained Jesus as your savior, it will be of no benefit for you in eternity.

Prayers

• Heavenly Father, You are the Creator of the ends of the earth. He who builds His layers in the sky, and has founded His strata in the earth.

• Thank You Father that you desire for us to succeed and prosper even in the eyes of the world.

• Thank You for teaching us how to succeed and for guiding us on which way to go to prosper.

• Forgive us for not paying attention to your instructions and instead, copying the world in their ways of success.

• Forgive us for not giving in the form of tithes and offerings to prove that all we have belongs to You.

• Help us to meditate in Your Word day and night in order to make our way prosperous.

• Thank You that through Christ we are able to repent and start afresh with You.

• We declare that we will give, and prosper and that no sorrow or shame shall accompany the success You will give us.

• We ask in Jesus’ Mighty name.  Amen
