(Psalms 139:23-24) “Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.”
(Luke 6:45) “A good person produces good from the good treasure of his heart, and an evil person produces evil from an evil treasure, because the mouth speaks from the overflow of the heart.”
(Matthew 15:11) “It is not what goes into the mouth that makes a person unclean. It is what comes out of the mouth that makes a person unclean.”

You can tell a lot about someone just by the things they say, the jokes they make, or the complaining they do. Their topic of conversation will reveal to you what they are obsessed with and even what they might be hiding.
The person that constantly cracks dirty jokes or makes sexual comments is probably someone who is addicted to pornography. The person who is always complaining about the government and society is probably watching too much garbage on TV and gossip talk shows. And the person who normally tries to bring glory to God in his conversation has probably spent that morning in prayer and reading the Word.
Now, there are those that religiously mention their god all day, and then cheat you in business, lie in their taxes, and mock you behind your back. These are probably the most deceiving and dangerous characters, as when you get hurt by them, it contradicts what was coming out of their mouths. You can lie to everyone regarding who you really are, but you cannot lie to God as he weighs the intentions of your heart and knows your deepest and darkest desires.
Jesus can see right through you and still says “I love you”. And because of this love, we can expect to be forgiven and restored if we chose to surrender to Christ. We need to be honest with ourselves, examine our hearts, and see what things are there that can stop us from continuing to have this intimate relationship with Him.
(“Your character is not revealed by your actions but by your reactions. Actions can be planted but reactions are spontaneous! They give you a glimpse of what is really in your heart so that you can deal with it. Child of God, you need the very storm from which you have been trying to run.” – Bob Gass)
Just like pork and other foods, which are considered unclean for the Jews, and the untouchables in India, who are also considered unclean and deserving to suffer because of their past sins, Muslims consider dogs unclean. I have three dogs, so when a Muslim usually sees me walking down the street, he tries to avoid me. I have used the verse in Matthew 15 many times to make them realize that they are more unclean than the dogs in the eyes of God because of what comes out of their own mouths.
You may be praised by men in public for all you say, but it is behind closed doors when you are truly evaluated, as that is where Christ is watching and waiting for you to repent.

Prayers
• Heavenly Father, You are He who guards the paths of justice, The Lord who will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all nations, Our Lawgiver.
• Thank You, Father, that nothing can be hidden from You and that You know exactly the intentions of our hearts.
• Thank You that we have the opportunity today to repent and start to walk according to Your ways.
• Forgive us for watching and doing things that are not according to Your will.
• Forgive us for reacting in a way that does not demonstrate the character of Christ.
• We declare that we will focus our minds on those things that are good, honorable, and worthy to be praised.
• Teach us how to store good treasure in our hearts and for it to overflow from our mouths.
• Search our hearts and show us those things that are hindering us from moving forward in life.
•
• We ask in Jesus’ Mighty name. Amen
