What Goes Around Comes Around

(Galatians 6:7-8) “Stop being deceived; God is not to be ridiculed. A person harvests whatever he plants: The person who sows through human means will harvest decay from human means, but the person who sows in the Spirit will harvest eternal life from the Spirit.”

(Matthew 7:12) “Therefore, whatever you want people to do for you, do the same for them, because this summarizes the Law and the Prophets.”

The one verse that truly put the fear of God in my life was when I read that God will not be ridiculed. All of a sudden all my lies, schemes, false masks, hypocritical words, hidden sin, and fake smiles became my accusers. I always figured that I could continue to sin, then ask for forgiveness, then sin again, and ask for forgiveness with no consequences. I even planned to enjoy my sins and the pleasures the world offers and then before I die or grow old, repent and ask for God’s mercy. All this was working until I finally understood that God is not blind, deaf, or stupid.

It was a scary situation for I knew that according to the Bible, I would end up in hell to continue to pay for my sins for the rest of eternity. However, the Bible also taught me that I could repent and start with a clean slate if I chose to follow and obey Christ.

God is very serious about every decision we make and who we bless or hurt. By not giving or helping when we can, we indirectly cause pain to those who need our help. At the same time, we cancel the blessing we could have received from God by sowing what we could and expecting a return. Jesus was very clear about first giving onto others if you want to receive. Therefore instead of just avoiding hurting others, in order not to get hurt, start blessing others in order to get blessed.

Don’t worry if they appreciate it or not, if they will ever bless you or not, God is the one that will repay all things back to you according to how you give. God will repay you at the right time with the right amount.
If you wait around expecting people to repay you, you are in danger of manipulating them or being fake in order to get your reward or blessing from them and not from God. Just give and continue giving, knowing that God is the source of your blessing.

If we sow only in the world, we will reap the corruption the world has to offer, but if we sow into God’s kingdom, we sow in the spiritual and the harvest is spiritual. By being blessed in the spiritual, it will positively affect, multiply and prosper every area of our lives.

(“You might not always reap WHERE you sow, or WHEN you sow, but you will always reap WHAT you sow.” – Bob Gass)

• Jesus, You are the Brightness of His glory, the last Adam, and the true vine.
• Thank You Father for Your loving kindness and that You are just in all You do.
• Thank You that if we truly repent of our sins, we can be forgiven and our past washed away.
• Forgive us for taking your grace, love and mercy for granted.
• Forgive us for thinking that we can outsmart You and that we can lie to You.
• Forgive us for giving to men only when we expect them to return the favor to us.
• Give us the heart of compassion to see the needs of the people around us and to be of help whenever we can.
• We declare that from today onwards we will start to sow in the Spirit and reject all the works of the flesh.
• We declare that we will sow sparingly and reap a bountiful harvest.
• Thank You that we can trust in your promises and stand firm that whatever we do for Your kingdom will be prospered.
• We declare that we will see the harvest of all the blessings we have sown in the past.

• We ask in Jesus’ Mighty Name. Amen
