Wonder Why You Are A Target?

(2 Corinthians 11:23-27)  “Are they the Messiah’s servants? I am insane to talk like this, but I am a far better one! I have been involved in far greater efforts, far more imprisonments, countless beatings, and have faced death more than once.  Five times I received from the Jews 40 lashes minus one.

“Three times I was beaten with a stick, once I was pelted with stones, three times I was shipwrecked, and I drifted on the sea for a day and a night.   I have traveled extensively and have been endangered from rivers, robbers, my own people, and gentiles. I’ve also been in danger in the city, in the open country, at sea, from false brothers, in toil and hardship, through many a sleepless night, through hunger, thirst, many periods of fasting, coldness, and nakedness.”

Have you ever asked yourself why is it that the devil is only constantly attacking you, and not other Christians?  It’s because you are a threat to the kingdom of darkness, and you are gaining ground.  A soldier who hides, runs and does not know how to lead others is no threat to the enemy.  It is the leader, commander in chief that motivates and makes others move forward in battle who is the real threat.  That’s why those in ministry are always facing challenges, difficulties, and struggles that most average Christians can’t even imagine.

However, without these challenges, they would not be in the position in ministry they are in right now.  If you ask any of those that have been in long-term ministry, what is the key to going on year after year, and the key to having the anointing and level of faith they carry, all they can do is show you their scars.  So if you feel that you have been abused, misunderstood, misjudged, insulted, rejected, backstabbed, or even unfairly treated, then be assured that you are being used by God to change hearts and bring lost souls to the feet of Jesus.

If you weren’t effective as an ambassador of Christ, in your daily life, time of prayer, preaching, and evangelism, the devil would not bother you.  But, you are effective, and a direct threat to him, therefore you are facing these things.  This is true not only for those in ministry but for anyone who has chosen to follow Christ and ignore the ways of a fallen world. So get on your knees today and start to destroy the plans of the kingdom of darkness.

However, if you are not a follower of Christ, and you still face constant turmoil, it is probably because you have rejected God’s commandments and are living by your own moral law. There, there is no one attacking you, as the payment of sin is death and destruction, and Christ won’t interfere to save you until you run to Him.

(“When a player in sports begins to score, what does the opposing team do?  They assign their best players to block him!  The warfare over your life today is just an indication of your value to God.  The attack you’re sustaining is because you have the ability to score!” – Bob Gass)

If your assignment is of God, you’ll attract attacks like a magnet!
