(2 Corinthians 3:18) “As all of us reflect the glory of the Lord with unveiled faces, we are becoming more like him with ever-increasing glory by the Lord’s Spirit.”
(Isaiah 43:1-2) “But now this is what the LORD says, the one who created you, Jacob, the one who formed you, Israel: ‘Do not be afraid, because I’ve redeemed you. I’ve called you by name; you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I’ll be with you; and through the rivers, they won’t sweep over you. When you walk through fire you won’t be scorched, and the flame won’t set you ablaze.’”
(Philippians 2:13) “For it is God who is producing in you both the desire and the ability to do what pleases him.”
Do you know what God sees when He looks at you? It depends on who you have living within your heart. If you are independent from God, then He only sees your fallen nature, your sins, your faults, the spirits that control you, and your rebellion. But if you have accepted Christ in your heart, then He only sees Christ. He now calls you His son and you are co-heir with Jesus to all the power, authority, and blessings that God has promised His children.
Yes, no matter what you have done in the past, no matter how many times you have failed Him or will continue to fail Him. All God sees in you is His beloved son, Jesus Christ. He sees the holiness, the long-suffering, the sacrificial love, and the obedience. Christ has justified you, in other words, canceled all accusations against you and taken away your shame and condemnation. This is a great feeling, as we can now stand blameless before God and experience His love towards us.
If you learn to see yourself the way God sees you, you will learn to see others in the same light and truth. In God’s eyes, you are precious, equipped to do good works, prepared to face any challenge, an instrument of glory, His pride and joy, and chosen to be the temple of the Holy Spirit. This is the way we need to respect, love, appreciate and see others who have accepted Christ, as God sees them the same way. Only then will we be able to love them and live a life that will show God’s glory through all we say and do.
We try too hard sometimes to change people according to what we think is good, or right, or beautiful. But we need to understand that God accepts us, not because of the things we do, but because we belong to Christ. And because we belong to Him, we ought not to be afraid of difficult situations as He promises to protect us and bring us out in victory. If you still don’t know Christ, surrender today to Him and
It’s not what we know, or what we can do, but WHO we know, that qualifies us for heaven.
