One Act of Obedience

(Ecclesiastes 9:10) “Whatever the activity in which you engage, do it with all your ability, because there is no work, no planning, no learning, and no wisdom in the next world where you’re going.”

(Hebrews 9:27-28) “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.”

(Mark 14:9) “I tell you with certainty, wherever the gospel is proclaimed in the whole world, what she has done will also be told as a memorial to her.”

You have only one life to live, there are no do-overs, rewind, fast forward, or stop options. Therefore, live it passionately, live it daily, live it as if you really matter, live it focusing on what God wants you to achieve for that day, and of course, live it as if it might be your last.

You cannot take back your words once they are spoken, you cannot take back the time you have wasted, you cannot regain the youth you have spent destroying your body and mind. But thankfully in God, all things are possible and He assures us that when we return to Him and walk correctly, our lives will matter.

The Bible is full of characters that one day decided to take their God-given life seriously and know that they have a divine purpose in Him. They acted with such passion and dedication that they are still remembered to this day.

Jesus, himself proclaimed that the woman who poured out the expensive perfume on His head at Bethany would always be remembered… and she surely is and has been the topic for many sermons. She only did this one action which was against common sense, but praised by God. All it took was one action, in the right time with the right heart, in other words, in obedience to the Holy Spirit.

However, that one action that Jesus praised was criticized by Judas Iscariot. Therefore, when you do walk in obedience to God, and for example, tithe, there will be those that will criticize your decision. This is because by you walking in holiness will make them conscious of their own sins and lack of desire to follow God.

Chose Jesus now, and let Him use you to leave behind an honorable legacy. You can also change lives and go down in history as a mighty man of God, all it takes is ONE action in obedience, and God will do the rest.

There is nothing you can do, once you are dead. You are either in the presence of Jesus constantly praising Him or separated from Him in Hell paying for your sins.

• Heavenly Father, You have forgiven all my iniquities and healed my diseases. You have redeemed my life from destruction. You have crowned me with loving kindness and tender mercies.
• Thank You for another day of life, where we can be instruments of good in Your hands.
• We ask that You cleanse us once more today of all our sins through the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross.
• Forgive us for wasting our time and not being fruitful for the kingdom. We ask that You help us to make an impact on our generation, community, social network, and family in order to bring glory to Your name.
• May we be able to change lives around us through all You make us do today.
• We know we are valuable and significant to You and are part of a great divine plan.
• Thank You for giving us the opportunity to matter and bring about change.

• We ask in Jesus’ name. Amen
