Complete the Mission

(John 4:34) “Jesus told them, ‘My food is doing the will of the one who sent me and completing his work.’”

(Hebrews 12:1-2) “Therefore, having so vast a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, and throwing off everything that hinders us and especially the sin that so easily entangles us, let us keep running with endurance the race set before us, fixing our attention on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of the faith, who, in view of the joy set before him, endured the cross, disregarding its shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”

(Luke 9:62) “Jesus told him, ‘No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for the kingdom of God.’”

(John 6:66) “As a result, many of his disciples turned back and no longer associated with him.”

You might say that you want to quit, that you can’t take the pressure anymore, that nothing is working out or that following God is not worth it. These are common thoughts those that don’t have Christ battle with daily. However, even if we think these things, we will never really let go of Jesus’ hand once we have experienced His love.

If you continue to look back and desire the freedom to sin and do as you pleased before surrendering to Christ, then you are in danger of failure. Sure your words and actions might be right in the eyes of everyone, but your heart is what God wants. Like Jesus, doing the will of the Father should be what brings us complete satisfaction.

Let us not be like many false disciples that had a limit on how much they could suffer for Christ. They followed Him as long as things made sense to them, as long as they were fed, and as long as there was not much danger to their lives.

Stand and fight in prayer, and Jesus will come to your aid. He’ll strengthen you and bring you through in triumph. No matter what the resistance, we have to complete our mission and calling. We are soldiers of God’s army and have been equipped to take over the kingdom of darkness and set the prisoners free.

Those who are bound in chains of darkness don’t even know it. It’s not an easy journey and it’s not one where many will accompany you, and your own will turn their backs on you, but Christ is watching and helping you.

His Word to you today is “be a Finisher”. There is nothing or no one you have left behind worth destroying your future. If you quit now, then there is nothing more God can do for you.

• Heavenly Father, He who trains my hands for war and my finger for battle. Taking us by our arms, You taught us to walk. He who delivers His servant from the deadly sword.
• Thank You Jesus that You are the author and finisher of our faith.
• Thank You Lord that we are not alone and abandoned but surrounded by a cloud of witnesses expecting us to triumph.
• Thank You that we are strengthened by Jesus to fulfill our mission.
• We ask that we have the same desire as Jesus to do the will of the Father.
• Make us as hungry for spiritual food as we are for the natural one.
• We declare that we will be known as finishers and that nothing and no one will be able to stop us.
• Help us to let go of those things of the past that might disqualify us in the race.
• We want to be known as those that were faithful till the end.

• We ask in Jesus’ Mighty Name – Amen
