(Psalms 77:11) âI will remember the LORD’s deeds; indeed, I will remember your awesome deeds from long ago.â
(Numbers 11:4-6) âMeanwhile, certain riff-raff among the people had an insatiable appetite for food. As a result, they wept and turned back, and the Israelis cried out, âIf only somebody would feed us some meat! How we remember the fish that we used to eat in Egypt for free! And the cucumbers, melons, leeks, onions, and garlic! But now we can’t stand it anymore, because there’s nothing in front of us except this manna.â”

How quick we are to forget the things God has done for us. To forget how He miraculously protected us and pulled us through our toughest storms. How He has provided for us in the past in times of lack. How He stood by us when we were rejected by our own. But probably the most important thing God has done for us is to bring us out of the power of darkness into the Light through the sacrifice of Jesus on the Cross.
When the Hebrew people were set free from the Egyptians, they went through some struggle while traveling through the desert to the promised Land. However, not appreciating what God had done for them, they started to complain and became miserable and ungrateful for the amazing miracle God had done.
The lack of contentment was such that they preferred to go back into Egypt where they were slaves, instead of living a life of freedom and promises for a bright and hopeful future under God. They preferred what was fed to them by their evil slave masters instead of the miraculous manna that literally fell from the sky provided by God.
This spiritual blindness and lack of gratitude was precisely the reason God had to let them wander the desert in circles for 40 years. God got His people out of Egypt and free from its darkness, but He now had to get Egypt and the darkness out of His people.
Some of us are still in that same mindset and have not learned to appreciate and enjoy the freedom we have once we receive Christ into our hearts. Instead of enjoying a personal relationship with the Creator, we still chase and get desperate after material things and the pleasures we tasted while under bondage.
Instead of worshipping and desiring the CREATION, start to worship the CREATOR.

Prayers
⢠Father, You are self-sufficient. You have no needs, You do not need to improve and do not change.
⢠We are truly grateful for having brought us out of the power of Darkness into Your light. We thank You that Satan and sin have no authority over us anymore because of the sacrifice of Jesus on the Cross.
⢠We declare that we are washed clean, sanctified and justified of all our mistakes through the Messiah, and our sinful past is no longer part of our lives.
⢠Help us to recognize and appreciate all You are doing for us on a daily basis.
⢠We thank You for our health, for another day of life, for our families, for the way you are providing financially, for answering our prayers, for guiding us in all we do, for the power of the Holy Spirit in our lives, and for loving us.
⢠Help us not to look back and desire the pleasures we were enslaved to before You set us free. Keep us vigilant before the lies of the enemy that will not allow us to enjoy being in Your presence.
⢠We ask in Jesusâ name. Amen
