Even God’s Work Requires Finances

(2 Corinthians 9:6) “Remember this: The person who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and the person who sows generously will also reap generously.”

(2 Corinthians 9:10) “Now he who supplies seed to the farmer and bread to eat will also supply you with seed and multiply it and enlarge the harvest that results from your righteousness.”

(Luke 10:2) “So he instructed them, ‘The harvest is vast, but the workers are few. So ask the Lord of the harvest to send workers out into his harvest.’

God knows which souls are ready and desperate to receive the good news of salvation through Jesus. He does not instruct us to only pray for the lost but to rather, ask for workers and laborers that will reach out to the lost. All we have to do is open our mouths. However, these missionaries, pastors, and evangelists of the kingdom of God require financial support as volunteers can only give of their own limited time or finances. Sure, God will use anyone that is available, but He also needs people that are committed to His work full-time.

If you have ever been in charge of a project or had a business, you will agree with me that volunteers are limited on their commitment. They might do it for a season and then leave you hanging having to retrain someone new for their position. Or even worse, you cannot demand deadlines or a level of perfection for a job, as they are not getting paid, and “beggars cannot be choosers.” On the contrary, if you hire workers and pay for their services, you can expect the work to be done well and on time. Unfortunately, this is true as well for the work of the kingdom.

Not everyone who volunteers will fail you, as they are doing this out of love for the kingdom and know the benefits of serving a pastor. There are those that work wholeheartedly and go the extra mile, and there are those that say ‘yes’, take on a responsibility, and later on fail on their commitment. Either way, God will reward us according to our investment. If we sow sparingly, we will reap accordingly.

If you cannot personally give of your time and talent to a ministry, you can give of your finances in order for that ministry to hire professionals for a specific job. You will automatically be a candidate to partake of the harvest that is collected.

As a Ministry, we sow in our own work as well as other ministries worldwide. We are confident that even if we cannot personally reach out to all the ends of the earth, by sending our support, we will see the souls we helped save the day we go to heaven.

By sowing in God’s kingdom and in God’s people, you become a worker for the kingdom.
