Get up and Get Going

(2 Corinthians 12:7-9) “To keep me from becoming conceited because of the exceptional nature of these revelations, a thorn was given to me and placed in my body. It was Satan’s messenger to keep on tormenting me so that I would not become conceited.”

“I pleaded with the Lord three times to take it away from me, but he has told me, ‘My grace is all you need, because my power is perfected in weakness.’ Therefore, I will most happily boast about my weaknesses, so that the Messiah’s power may rest on me.”

(Philippians 3:13-14) “Brothers, I do not consider myself to have embraced it yet. But this one thing I do: Forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I keep pursuing the goal to win the prize of God’s heavenly call in the Messiah Jesus.”

They say that experience is the best teacher. I personally believe that failure actually teaches you more than experience, as it also gives you the opportunity to rise up again and continue fighting for what you believe. Christianity is based on rising up again, the power of resurrection, and conquering the impossible through the power of God.

A true follower of Jesus will be known for His positive attitude in any situation, for His ability to be completely abandoned by everyone and still stay strong in his faith, to be backstabbed by loved ones, and still have the ability to forgive and not retaliate. Basically, a true Christian does not stop moving forward with God’s plan for their lives, no matter what the struggles, failures, or challenges.

If you react the same as everyone else when things get tough, then what makes you different for having Jesus as your Lord? If you just lay there feeling sorry for your situation and making everyone miserable around you, then how does Christ shine through you?

I´m not talking about always seeing the glass half full, because at times it will be completely empty. I´m talking about running to the one that can take your empty glass and fill it with the Holy Spirit.

(“If you intend to accomplish anything for God, then learn to react to adversity like yeast. When the heat is on, it rises! God will set you in uncomfortable places so you can rise. The bad times often do more to strengthen us than all our mountaintop experiences put together. So you fell again! Get up again!”

“If a baby had to learn to walk without falling, he’d never walk. If things don’t work out one way, try another. You’d be surprised how many people never focus on a goal and end up doing things haphazardly. The difference between the masterful and the mediocre is a focused effort.” – Bob Gass.)

Don’t allow past failures to bring you down or stop you from having goals. Press forward towards your goals in Christ. Let your failures and difficulties become stepping stones towards the top of the mountain.

• Dear Jesus, You are The Bridegroom, Rock of Ages, and Lily of the valleys.
• Thank You, Lord, for being aware of all our struggles and helping us in our time of need.
• Thank You that Your grace is more than sufficient for us to face any adversity.
• Forgive us for not always getting up after falling, and for feeling sorry for ourselves.
• We ask that You will strengthen us to keep on going and rising above our situation.
• We declare that we can do all things through Christ, Who strengthens us.
• Let our attitude to challenges in life reflect the power of Christ within us.
• Fill our empty lives today once more with Your Holy Spirit and let our cup overflow into the lives of others.

• In Jesus’s Mighty name we ask. Amen
