God My Provider

(Psalms 145:16-17) “Everyone’s eyes are on you, as you give them their food in due time. You open your hand continually and keep on satisfying the desire of every living thing.”

(Mark 1:40-42) “Then a leper came to Jesus and began pleading with him. He fell on his knees and told him, ‘If you want to, you can make me clean.’ Moved with compassion, Jesus reached out his hand, touched him, and told him, ‘I do want to. Be made clean!’ Instantly the leprosy left him, and he was clean.”

(Philippians 4:19) “And my God will fully supply your every need according to his glorious riches in the Messiah Jesus.”

I love the song that says “Jehovah Jireh, my provider. His grace is sufficient for me. My God shall supply all my needs according to His riches and glory. He will set His angels charge over me. Jehovah Jireh cares for me”. No matter what difficulty I am facing, my need for finances, healing, encouragement, or just the need to feel like I matter, this song reminds me that God really cares for me and is able to provide all things.

However, even though I know beyond a doubt that He can do increasingly abundantly more than I can ask or imagine, the question that arises within me at times is…. Is God willing to do it? We have complete faith in God’s power to heal us and prosper us, but sometimes we lack faith in His love for us. If we still look at ourselves through the eyes of Satan, we will only feel condemned, and not worthy of any favor or love. When we take God’s Word as true, we realize that God loves us to the point of making the ultimate sacrifice for us….His son Jesus.

We can only truly start to enjoy God’s blessings when we blindly believe that if we ask, we will receive if we seek, we shall find, and if we knock it shall be opened onto us. Whatsoever we bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever we loosen on earth shall be loosed in heaven. If we confess our sins He is faithful and just to forgive us from all unrighteousness.

These are not parables or symbolic teachings for us to interpret only in the Spiritual. They are sometimes to be taken literally and for us to believe that if God has given these promises to us, it is because He is first willing to fulfill every single one of them. God gets no pleasure in making a promise and then not keeping it.

However, if we are contemplating sin, or being rebellious, or continue to worship idols and live a life of sin…. None of God’s promises can be applied to us except for one. That we will end up separated from Him throughout eternity if we have not asked Jesus into our hearts as our Lord and Savior.

Sometimes all we need is to use our faith to simply ask, believe that God is able to provide and expect to receive.

• Heavenly Father, the steps of a good man are ordered by You O Lord. Though he falls, he shall not be utterly cast down, for Lord, You uphold him with Your right hand.
• Thank You for Your love, for Your promises, and for Your provision.
• Thank You that we can claim every promise in the Word through Jesus.
• Forgive us for doubting Your love for us and that You are willing to give us all we need.
• We reject right now any of the lies Satan has put in our mind that rise up against You.
• We declare that You are pleased to show mercy to us, and to provide for us, and to give us favor in all we do.
• We declare that as we ask we shall receive, as we seek we shall find, and as we knock every door shall be opened.
• We declare that my God shall fully supply my every need according to his glorious riches in the Messiah Jesus.
• Thank You for the spiritual authority You have given us to bind those things that can harm us and to loosen all those things that will bless us.
• We decide today to walk in Your truth, in Your promises, in Your love and with Your authority.

• We ask in Jesus’ Mighty Name. Amen
