Some Have Still Not Heard

(Matthew 4:19) “And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.”

(Matthew 28:19-20) “Therefore, as you go, disciple people in all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey everything that I’ve commanded you. And remember, I am with you each and every day until the end of the age.”

(Luke 14:23) “Then the master told the servant, ‘Go out into the streets and the lanes and make the people come in, so that my house may be full.’”

Even though we live in a modern age of information where the name of Jesus has practically reached all ends of the earth, I am still amazed at how few a number of people actually have heard the Gospel. I noticed this over and over again with the youth in Europe, where most parents don’t follow Christ themselves.

Yes, everybody knows about the church, Priests, Catholics, and the Christian religion, but not many know that they will never be able to pay for their sins through good works. They don’t know that water baptism is not salvation, that we cannot pray to Mary or the saints, and that the priests have no spiritual authority to forgive us of our sins. The simple message of how Christ came down to earth in the form of a man and took upon himself the punishment of our sins is not something that everyone has heard or truly understood.

We have to share this message with everyone we know so that they can make a choice either to accept or reject Christ. Their ignorance towards the message of salvation will not exclude them from God’s judgment. God promises us that HE will make us fishers of men, in other words, we have to obey His instructions if we want to become true fishers of souls for His kingdom. This requires being ready to make some changes regarding how things have been done in the past, without compromising on doctrine and the preaching of the cross.

I have had to adapt my whole way of pastoring, preaching, and counseling to an online format as this is what the Holy Spirit instructed me. I was instructed to simplify the message and reach out to the ones that are spiritually dead, spiritually sick, and hungry for the truth that will change their lives. At the same time, I was able to disciple others to grow and do the same while God backed me up with signs, wonders, and answered prayers.

(“Any smart fisherman will tell you if your bait isn’t working – change it. Be honest enough with yourself to admit that maybe ‘What we are doing is not working.’ I learned how to build my Sunday school from a Baptist, how to win souls from a Presbyterian, and how to develop home groups from a Pentecostal. If you don’t know, ask someone. Remember, the net will drag in everything, so be patient. You can’t clean a fish until you first catch it.” – Bob Gass)

Go out there and start sharing whatever you know about Christ, you will be surprised at how many have still not heard the good news of salvation. God can only use you when you step into your boat and cast the net.

• Heavenly Father, You are God who saves the upright in heart. The Lord who weighs the heart. God who tests the heart and mind.
• Thank You Father that Your message of salvation is simple enough for a child to understand.
• Thank You for loving us and sending Your son to teach us how to be fishers of men.
• Forgive us for being stuck in our traditions and the ways of man instead of obeying the voice of the Holy Spirit.
• We surrender to You once again today and ask You to train us on how to share the message of salvation.
• Give us the boldness, opportunity, and love needed to reach out to the lost and the hurting.
• We declare that we will be fruitful in our work and bring fish to your kingdom that the nets will not be able to contain.
• We declare that we will grow in such a way that others will have to come and help us to teach, preach and counsel.

• We ask in Jesus’ Mighty Name. Amen
