God’s Gifts

(1 Corinthians 12:11) “But one and the same Spirit produces all these results and gives what he wants to each person.”

(Jeremiah 1:7) “Then the LORD told me, “Don’t say, ‘I’m only a young man,’ for you will go everywhere I send you, and you will speak everything I command you.”

(Philemon 1:6) “I pray that your partnership in the faith may become effective as you fully acknowledge every blessing that is ours in the Messiah.”

(Philippians 1:6) “Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:”

You would be amazed at all the talents, skills, favor, divine connections, and supernatural abilities God has given you. All it takes is to sit down and ask the Holy Spirit to bring them to your attention. Many of us go through life not realizing how many opportunities God has given us to do the right thing, to prosper, and to move forward in His plan. He did not create us without a plan or purpose.

Jesus has already deposited the seed inside of you for Him to use. Learn to protect it, water it and help it grow. He has even chosen people that will help you complete His plans for you. I don’t know what your talent is, but I bet that many around you have a hard time with things that come naturally to you.

Social media, web design, editing of audio and video, keeping accounts, playing an instrument, speaking or singing in public, writing, having patience and compassion, leadership abilities, taking care of the sick and the elderly, landscaping, cooking for a big crowd, construction, or simply being a good listener are all abilities that God can use to further His kingdom.

You have to believe that you are unique and that God can use you as well. Stop trying to imitate or compare yourself with others. Don’t focus all your energy on your weaknesses, but focus on the gifts and strengths both in the natural and spiritual God has deposited in you. Jesus started a work in you the moment you chose to follow Him and He will complete it if you allow Him to do so. It is by acknowledging the good Christ has placed inside of you that your faith in how He can use you will increase.

C.S.Lewis said, “Being humble is not thinking less of yourself, it’s thinking of yourself less.” Present yourself to your Pastor and make available to him all your connections and skills. You will discover how important and valuable your help is to the ministry.

• Heavenly Father, Your commandments make me wiser than my enemies, for they are ever with me. You are He who cast out many nations great and mightier than me.
• Thank You, Father, that you have deposited talents inside of us to be used for Your glory.
• Thank You, that it is Your Spirit that makes us produce good results.
• Thank You, that Jesus will complete in us the good work He started.
• Forgive us for wanting to be like others and not recognizing the potential You have put in us.
• Forgive us for not putting our talents to the service of the kingdom.
• We ask that today we will realize how many great things we can do for You and Your people.
• We acknowledge all the good things You have deposited in us and declare that we will excel at them.

• We ask these things in Jesus’ Mighty name. Amen
