Use the Force

(Luke 10:18-19)  “And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven. Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”

(Colossians 2:15)  “And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.”

Would you consider it ridiculous to continue fighting in a war that you have already won? This is exactly what many of us are doing on a daily basis without knowing that Christ has already won on our behalf. That is why instead of claiming our victory and moving forward, we continue to fight the same battle over and over again. Sure, there is a constant battle happening, but if you don’t learn to fight with the power and authority given by Jesus, you will continue to live in defeat.

Many times we continue fighting Satan when we are actually our biggest enemy, as our lack of faith in what God has declared stops us from growing spiritually. The next time Satan reminds you of your past, you remind him of his. We just read that Jesus disarmed Satan at the cross making him look like a fool in public. Maybe that’s why Satan is so angry with you and wants to destroy you.

A true sign of spiritual maturity is when you stop fighting for something and start claiming what Jesus has already made available to you. You continue to strive to be holy when God has declared you a saint. You continue to try and do things to catch God’s attention when He has already called us a chosen people. You continue to try and suffer to pay for your past mistakes when He has declared us justified through Christ.

In the first Star Wars movie, Luke Skywalker had to learn to “use the Force” and not depend on his natural mind or ability to destroy the spaceship of the enemy called the “Death Star”. This was contrary to all his instincts and He simply had to let go and trust the power of “the Force”. We need to learn to trust the Word of God more and depend less on what we think is going to happen.

Yes, the Bible says that Satan is like a roaring lion looking for whom to devour. But now picture that lion with no claws and no teeth. Jesus has rendered him powerless against you. Start walking in victory.

• Heavenly Father, You will not be slack with him who hates You but will repay him to his face. God, You shall let me see my desire on my enemies and they are brought to shame who seek my hurt.
• Father, we thank you for the victory we have through the blood of Jesus on the Cross.
• Forgive us for wasting time fighting against Satan, instead of standing on the victory of Jesus.
• Teach us how to use the power of the Word in every situation.
• Give us today a sign that we are victorious in every area of our lives.
• We declare victory over our finances, over our health, over our addictions, over our emotions, over our fears and over our lack of faith in Your Word.
• I declare that Satan has no authority over me, for I belong to Jesus. For he was defeated at the cross and Jesus made a fool of him for all to see. Satan is still that powerless lion, and we take back all he has stolen from us.

• We ask in Jesus’ Mighty Name. Amen
