Lack Of Commitment

(Daniel 3:28-29) “Nebuchadnezzar spoke up and announced: ‘Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego! He sent his angel to deliver his servants who trusted in him. They disobeyed the king’s command and were willing to risk their lives in order not to serve or worship any god except their own God.’”

“’So I decree that people from any nation or language who say anything against the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego will be destroyed and their house reduced to rubble, because there is no other god who can save like this.’”

If there is one thing missing from our modern society is the lack of commitment. We have so many options that we can take the liberty to not finish what we start or easily give up when things get boring or a little tough. This mindset of quitting something based on our feelings is the main reason why so many men leave their wives, parents abandon children, children quit school and young adults don’t last long at one particular job. Whenever it gets a little too uncomfortable, we simply give up.

However, with God, it should not be so. He is always watching and waiting to see how committed you are to Jesus’ calling on your life. God wants to see if you’ve got what it takes to put the world upside down, to stand firm when everyone else has bowed down to their circumstances, or to what others think or say about them.

God wants to see if you will be like Daniel and his friends that stood up to the king and refused to worship him as a god, thus, condemning themselves to death. As a result, God did such miracles to shut everyone’s mouth that even the king declared that the God of Daniel and his friends was the only true living God that can save in such a manner.

Are you willing to go through the fire in order to bring glory to the name of Jesus? Are you willing to sustain the insults, mockery, and lack of support from your loved ones because you have chosen to seriously follow Christ and His teachings? Are you even willing to go against all logic, and love those that hate you, and pray for those that curse you? And are you ready to face all this alone? If you are, then get ready to see the supernatural take over your life and watch Christ reveal His power through you.

(“Until I am committed, there is a hesitancy, a chance to draw back. But the moment I definitely commit myself, then God moves also, and a whole stream of events begins. All manner of unforeseen incidents, meetings, people and material assistance of which I never dreamed begin to move towards me – the moment I make that commitment.” – Bob Gass)

When we truly commit is when God intervenes on our behalf and things start to fall into place.

Prayers

• Jesus, You are Fairest Lord, Most Upright, Son of Righteousness.
• We thank You for not giving up on your sacrifice on the cross when things got tough.
• Forgive us for giving up so easily on our walk with You when things get a little difficult.
• Forgive us for having a bad testimony in front of those that do not know you.
• Help us today to see your supernatural power work through us.
• We declare that we are committed to Your calling upon our lives and that nothing or no one will stop us from moving forward.
• We shall have a testimony for Your glory after every fiery trial, and many shall see that You are the One living God.
• We declare that “The Lord will rescue me from every evil attack and will take me safely to his heavenly kingdom. Glory belongs to him forever and ever!”

• We ask in Jesus’ Mighty name. Amen
