Never Quit Learning

(Proverbs 4:7) “Wisdom is of utmost importance, therefore get wisdom, and with all your effort work to acquire understanding.

(2 Peter 3:17-18) “And so, dear friends, since you already know these things, continually be on your guard not to be carried away by the deception of lawless people. Otherwise, you may fall from your secure position. Instead, continue to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus, the Messiah. Glory belongs to him both now and on that eternal day! Amen.”

They say that you will never go to bed without learning something new, and that is completely true. There is so much knowledge easily available to us that the only reason for not having an answer to a question is pure laziness or lack of desire to learn and grow. This attitude of apathy is damaging to our growth, both mentally and spiritually, as God requires us to get wisdom and understanding while we are here on earth. The only time you will stop learning about God’s creation is when you are dead.

However, knowing everything about the Eternal One who created us, will take an eternity as even after death, we will continue to grow in the knowledge of Christ and we will see things more clearly. We are not gods, nor can we ever think or imagine the depth of His existence. Only fools think that a holy God is as limited and fallen as they are right now by saying they are a part of God, or He is a part of them.

The closer you get to God, the more you will truly learn about who you truly are, and it’s not a pretty sight. When you gain wisdom and understanding from God and His Word, you will only run faster to His arms and realize how much time you have wasted trying to fill your mind with the knowledge of the Creation instead of the Creator. There is nothing wrong with common knowledge, and understanding, but it can become a hindrance in your spiritual walk when it takes over the desire to get closer to Christ.

If you want to be successful in life, you have to make God your mentor and teacher, and stop chasing the latest fashion, preacher, or trend in society. No one can teach you better about life than the Holy Spirit. Look at the difference between the anointing and wisdom of those who only had the Bible and the Holy Spirit to teach and guide them, compared to the modern believers who depend more on YouTube videos, phone apps, and clever phrases on the internet. I include myself in the second category.

You can have many teachers in life that will increase your knowledge, but only a true Master will correct you and show you what really matters in life.

• Heavenly Father, You are the Righteous Judge, Righteous and Upright God, He who increases the harvest of our righteousness.
• Thank You, Father, that You are our source of all knowledge and truth.
• Thank You, that you give knowledge to those who are wise enough to receive understanding.
• Forgive us for becoming proud in our book knowledge of the Creation instead of desiring to know more about You.
• Forgive us for chasing the latest preacher on the internet instead of desiring to hear the voice of the Holy Spirit.
• Teach us how to use our time and capacity to learn wisely.
• Show us how far we are from You, so we can repent and make the necessary changes.
• Give us the anointing from above to walk in Your ways and understand Your truth.

• We ask in Jesus’ Mighty name. Amen
