No One Is A Lost Cause

(1 Corinthians 15:57-58) “But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus the Messiah! Therefore, my dear brothers, be steadfast, unmovable, always excelling in the work of the Lord, because you know that the work that you do for the Lord isn’t wasted.”

(2 Kings 13:18-19) “After this Elisha said, ‘Pick up the arrows.’ So the king picked them up. Then Elisha told the king of Israel, ‘Strike the ground!’ So he struck it three times and then stood still. At this the man of God became angry at him and told him, ‘You should have struck five or six times! Then you would have attacked Aram until you would have destroyed it! But as it is now, you’ll defeat Aram only three times!’”

Do you ever give up on yourself or on someone else? Do you ever say to yourself, “What’s the point?”, “Nothing is going to change.” Do you start to pray and intercede for yourself or someone else and give up halfway? Do you expect failure from yourself or others before even attempting to do something? If you are doing this, then stop right now as this is not the way God thinks about us.

We have no idea which experience in life can give us that push to finally repent, change, and give it all we’ve got and succeed in everything we start. If you are trusting God and confessing Jesus as your Lord and Savior, then your breakthrough is around the corner. Hold on, continue doing good, continue to obey God and reject sin, continue to praise His name no matter what the situation, and very soon you will have a testimony for His glory.

God knows your future, and if He still bets on you and continues reaching out to you, it’s because, for Him, you are not a lost cause. When God sees us, He does not see our sins or our failure, but He sees His Son, Jesus, living inside of us. We have to do the same and see what Christ sees in others.

If God had given up on you, you would not be reading or listening to this devotional, He would not continue to put people in your way, posts, or messages on your social media that spoke to you about Jesus and His love for you. He knows exactly how close you are to change your life around.

In 2 Kings 13, the king gave up after striking the ground only 3 times with the arrows as instructed by the prophet. The prophet got angry with the king because now he would only defeat the enemy 3 times in battle, instead of the 6 times needed to completely destroy them.

Therefore, don’t stop praying over your situation or over anyone else that seems to go around the same mountain over and over again. You never know if after that prayer, during that one song, or that one sermon, your life or someone else’s might change forever.

Don`t give up on yourself or others, as God can do the impossible when you least expect it.

• Jesus, You are a merciful and faithful High Priest, a High Priest without sin, a High Priest who can sympathize with our weakness.
• Thank You Lord for never giving up on us and for betting on us.
• Thank You that we can stand firm on your love for us and always know that You are reaching out to us.
• Forgive us for being negative regarding what we can achieve in life, and for being negative toward others.
• We declare that we will continue to pray, sing, and listen to Your Word regardless of our negativity.
• Help us to give words of encouragement to all those we are praying for, even if they continue to fail and continue tied to their sins.
• We want to be like the prodigal son’s father, who was looking out into the horizon with hope that one day his son would repent and come back to him.

• We ask in Jesus’ Mighty Name. Amen
