No Pain No Gain

(Philippians 3:13-14) “Brothers, I do not consider myself to have embraced it yet. But this one thing I do: Forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I keep pursuing the goal to win the prize of God’s heavenly call in the Messiah Jesus.”

(Isaiah 54:1) “’Sing, you barren woman, even the one who never bore a child! Burst into song and shout for joy, even you who were never in labor! For the children of the desolate woman will be more than the children of her that is married,’” says the LORD.

Body Builders know that muscle size increases when a person continually challenges their muscles to deal with higher weights. This occurs only when the fibers of the muscles sustain damage or injury due to being stretched beyond their comfortable limits. The body repairs these damaged fibers by fusing them, which increases the mass and size of the muscles. By being afraid of pain you will never become Rocky Balboa.

Our faith, blessings, success, health, love, and strong relationships all increase in exactly the same way. God never intended us to stay stagnant or comfortable by just believing in Him or acknowledging that He is real because even the devil believes in God and trembles before Him.

A sign of life in any organism is change and growth. If you are afraid of the pain, struggle, what people will say, or embarrassment of failure in any area of your life, you can be assured it will die. Don’t base your future on your past failures as God makes us grow and change for the better.

You will only increase your faith by putting it into practice. If you don’t pray for that person in a wheelchair, or in the hospital, or in depression, you will never experience the increase in your life when those prayers get answered. By being afraid of not having a favorable outcome, both you and the person you pray for end up losing. They will still be sick or paralyzed, and you will still be afraid and lack the faith to believe God’s promises.

This applies to anything you want to achieve in life. Don’t be afraid of what you will have to sacrifice in order to achieve your goals and dreams. Don’t look at your barrenness, handicap, lack of means, insecurities, or social status. People do not succeed because of some magic potion or because they are born geniuses, their success is based on how long they can focus on the victory that lies ahead instead of the defeat recently experienced. Look only at the one who can supply all things for you and is a rewarder of all your efforts…Jesus.

(“First, they’ll tell you, ‘It won’t work!’ Then, when you begin to succeed, they’ll say, ‘What you’re doing really isn’t that important!’ Finally, after they see that it’s important, they’ll say, ‘We knew you’d do it all along!’” – Dr. Jonas Salk, developer of Polio Vaccine.)

• Heavenly Father, You are Lord who helps us, the Lord who judges me, Lord our God who goes before us, the Lord God of all flesh.
• Forgive us today for being afraid of failure, of what man will say, and of just being too lazy to work hard.
• We bind right now that spirit of failure, fear, stagnation, depression, and apathy in our lives in Jesus’ name.
• We declare that You are right now enlarging our tents, and that all we do from this day forth will produce a favorable outcome.
• No matter what we lack right now, like the barren woman, we declare that we will be fruitful with spiritual children, and spiritual fruits and we will sing with joy for all that You are about to give us.
• Everyone shall see how great You are because of all that we will accomplish as we continue to focus on Jesus and move forward.

• We ask in Jesus’ Mighty name. Amen
