(James 1:4) “But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.”
(Habakkuk 2:3) “For the revelation pertains to an appointed time—it speaks truthfully about the end. Though it delays, wait for it, because it will surely come about—it will not be late!”(Psalms 40:1) “I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.”

Being impatient is a human defect that can push us to make rash decisions. It shows a lack of love and tolerance towards others. It can even lead us to lose our assigned blessings, and it definitely robs us of learning all that God wants to teach us.
In this modern “fast-food” age, we have forgotten that all things mature best at a natural pace. Every fruit and vegetable has a season and a required time for growth. Soil needs a time of rest to replenish its natural nutrients. But the majority of the food found nowadays is completely lacking nourishment and the vitamins needed for us to grow strong and healthy. No wonder there is now a worldwide craze for organic foods, and many are becoming vegetarians as animals too are manipulated to grow faster, and oversized in record time.
We have taken this same mentality to our walk with Christ. We want the healing now, blessings now, wife now, the job now, that person to receive Christ now, or else we quit because our faith in God is no longer based on endurance and patience, but rather on rewards and instant gratification.
We have made God our personal ATM and expect Him to obey our commands by punching in the right numbers or saying the right words. This is a dangerous mindset as all you will achieve is imperfection by not allowing the Word of God deposited in you to mature and become a powerful weapon in God’s hand.
Can you imagine the current generation trying to work with the first computers when the internet was invented? Or trying to actually make a call with the old phones with a round dial? All try to get the job done using shortcuts and completely lose out on the personal growth it takes to go through the process of waiting patiently.
We forget at times how much patience God is having with us on a daily basis because He actually has seen the perfected work in us. By having accepted Christ as our Lord, we are now perfect in the eyes of God, and all He is waiting for is for us to start living that way.

Prayers
• Heavenly Father, You have strengthened the bars of my gate and blessed my children within me. You make peace in my borders. You are He who walks in the midst of my camp, to deliver me and give my enemies over to me.
• Thank You for your patience with us as we continually learn what waiting on You means.
• Forgive us for giving up right away after praying only for five minutes, or for giving up on our Christian walk by not getting what we are asking for when we are asking for it.
• Forgive us for making You an ATM machine that will give us what we ask by just punching in a code.
• Give us the patience of the prophets that matured by waiting on You and did great wonders that are still talked about today.
• We know You love us and that you now see us perfected in Christ. Teach us how to love others the same way.
• We declare that because we are being perfected, we are not wanting anything, and we are completely at peace with the way You are working through us. Thank You for making us content with what You are allowing us to have right now.
•
• We ask in Jesus’ Mighty Name. Amen
