Renewed From The Inside

(Psalms 51:10) “Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.”

(John 15:3) “Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.”

(Proverbs 4:20-22) “My son, pay attention to my words, and listen closely to what I say. Do not let them out of your sight; keep them within your heart. For they are life to those who find them, and healing to their whole body.”

A true and divine transformation starts from the inside and then it is seen by everyone on the outside. God does not worry so much about our outward appearance as much as our inward character. He does not focus on the symptoms but on the root of the problem. When we surrender to Christ we start to dominate our environment instead of it dominating and enslaving us. But this can only happen if we are ready to be challenged and admit that we might be wrong concerning some concepts we consider as truth.

When we have allowed the sinful circumstances we grew up in, to grow within us, it will stop us from admitting that we need to change. We will seek the people that make us feel comfortable and don’t challenge us to grow out of our comfort zone. We will avoid anyone who confronts our current moral value system. This is a common practice for those who seek gods and idols after their own fallen desires, as these man-made gods normally don’t put too much preassure on holiness.

No wonder they say that “birds of the same feather flock together.” Which makes total sense as everyone is comfortable around each other, and no one judges each other. However, this will have devastating results if these birds you are comfortable flocking with are just as ungodly as you are. They won’t stop you when you sin, they won’t correct you when you slack and they won’t lead you to a more intimate relationship with God.

So how do we change for good from the inside? It’s very simple. Drown yourself in the Word of God. Christ declares that by listening to His words, our minds will be washed clean. This means that we will be able to think clearly and choose correctly what is pleasing onto God. Once your mind is set right, your body will be next to be healed.

Only when we read what the Bible says about who Christ is, what heaven, hell, and the afterlife actually mean, who we are in God and what is expected from us, will we be able to make the right decisions in life and not go with the flow of our inner desires.

David pleaded with God to cleanse his heart and renew his inner spirit as that is where our true identity resides. Do this today and let the miracle in your life begin.

Prayers

• Heavenly Father, You are the Lord God of heaven and earth. Lord of both the dead and the living. Lord Your dominion is an everlasting dominion and Your kingdom is from generation to generation.
• Thank You, Father, for Your Word which has cleansing power.
• Thank You for working with our hearts and minds in order for us to be set free from the influence of a fallen world.
• Teach us how to dominate our environment and not to be controlled or influenced by it.
• We ask that you continue to challenge us to grow in Your knowledge and don’t allow us to get comfortable in our sin.
• We declare that we are healed, cleansed in our minds, and renewed because of the Word we have received from Christ.
• We ask you to release us from any friendship or covenant that is not challenging us to grow in You or is allowing us to be comfortable with our sin.
• Create in me a clean heart oh God, and renew a right spirit within me.

• We ask in Jesus’ Mighty Name. Amen
