Start Testifying

(Psalms 107:1-3) “Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good! His gracious love exists forever. Let those who have been redeemed by the LORD declare it—those whom he redeemed from the power of the enemy, those whom he gathered from other lands—from the east, west, north, and south.”

(Jonah 3:1-2) “This message from the LORD came to Jonah a second time: ‘Get up and go to Nineveh, that great city, and proclaim to it the message that I tell you.’ “

Take a few seconds and ask yourself right now, “What can I testify about in my life to bring glory to God?”…go ahead, do it right now… If you are having a hard time coming up with something, then you have a serious problem, as it suggests that God is probably not part of your daily life. And worst of all, people don’t know that you are a disciple of Jesus and therefore He cannot use you to bring others to Him.

If you have No problem with this exercise, that means you are truly thankful and acknowledge Him publically as your source of all good things. It means that you are aware that Christ is a real part of your daily life and part of every decision you make. The next step is to start sharing about Him with others.

Just like Jonah, God has given us all a second chance to do the right thing by sharing His message and has not abandoned us every time we disobeyed Him. He not only saved us from the power of the enemy but has empowered us to live a righteous life.

By sharing your personal experience, you bring to life some of the promises in the Bible. This is a powerful tool to reach out to the lost, as many cannot relate to the teachings in the Bible, nor do they believe in them.

Only you know what you have suffered in life and how God has granted you victory in the name of Jesus. By not testifying about how God has pulled you through, you allow the devil to steal that testimony. It is these testimonies that increase our faith and make us stronger to face what is coming next by reminding us of God’s power and faithfulness in the past.

I have to remind myself every month how God has moved the hearts of people to faithfully send us financial support for the ministry and raised up volunteers to help out with tasks that are beyond my reach. This is how I strengthen my faith and continue to trust that He will provide for all our needs.

Even if your struggle does not include a near-death experience or a great supernatural miracle, there are many out there who will relate to your journey of simply being able to be faithful to God in a secular world.

Prayers

• Heavenly Father, surely Your goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life. Lord Your kindness is before my eyes. My heart trusted in You and I am helped.
• Father, we thank you for watching over us every day.
• Thank you for another day of life when so many others have gone to sleep forever.
• We thank You, Lord, for You are good and Your gracious love exists forever.
• We want to be a living testimony of what Your power can do.
• Let us no longer be shy or think we have nothing to contribute to Your kingdom.
• We need You to give us the boldness to share with everyone what You have done for us.
• Forgive us for not giving testimony of Jesus in our lives or for taking the glory that belongs to Him.
• Let us declare that “my eyes have seen, my ears have heard, my mouth will talk about the goodness of God.”

• We ask these things in Jesus’ Mighty name. Amen
