Take the First Step by Faith

(1 Chronicles 28:20) “David continued with these words for his son Solomon: “Be strong and courageous, and get to work. Never be afraid or discouraged, for the LORD God, my God, is with you. He will not fail you nor will he abandon you right up to your completion of the work for the service of the Temple of the LORD.”

(Hebrews 10:36) “For you need endurance, so that after you have done God’s will you can receive what he has promised.”

(Hebrews 11:8) “By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going.”

Every miracle God did for anyone in the Bible always followed a ‘first step of faith’. The priests had to step into the water first before the waters of the River Jordan went back creating a path for them. The blind man had to cry out louder than anyone else for Christ to hear him. The woman with the issue of blood had to reach out and touch the tip of Jesus’s garment to get healed.

Moses had to strike the rock in the desert for water to come gushing out of it. The Centurion had to go to Jesus by faith in representation of his servant that was sick. The book of Hebrews is full of characters that achieved great miracles by steps of faith ordained by God. God has already prepared the blessing, but you need to ask for it, expect to receive it, and most importantly declare it as yours through the work of Jesus on the Cross.

In the same manner, salvation is achieved by a step of faith towards Jesus. You might not understand how or why God chooses to save us through the shedding of the blood of Jesus on the cross. You might not even be able to feel His presence continually around you once you have accepted Christ. And you might not even be accustomed to praying and having prayers answered. This is completely normal, and only by taking further steps of faith on a daily basis will you experience the miracles God has prepared for you.

Don’t’ give up on continuing to serve God, by doing good, keeping His commandments, and sharing the love of Jesus with everyone around you. You have no idea how many lives, families, churches, or even nations you can bless just by taking a step of faith in obedience.

(“In Joshua 3 the Priests assumed that the river would dry up immediately, but God dried it up sixteen miles upstream, so they had to wait for all the water to pass by before they could cross over. What you’re going through right now is what you have to go through while you’re waiting for your miracle. Why didn’t God open the river whey they were? It was because they needed an opening wide enough to move two million people across. When God moves, it’s not just for your benefit, it’s for the benefit of others as well.” – Bob Gass)

If you are waiting first to have all the answers or clear all your doubts about Jesus, I guarantee you will end up losing your chance to experience eternity with God.
