Watch What You Eat

(Exodus 23:25) “You are to serve the LORD your God, and he will bless your food and water, and I’ll remove sickness from you.”

(1 Corinthians 3:16) “You know that you are God’s sanctuary and that God’s Spirit lives in you, don’t you?”

(1 Corinthians 6:12) “Everything is permissible for me, but not everything is helpful. Everything is permissible for me, but I will not allow anything to control me.”

We can be super spiritual, but we still need to live inside this body. Therefore, it is our responsibility to take care of it and eat correctly. There is no excuse for being so overweight, or unfit that we cannot be physically active. God has the power to take away any of your diseases both physical and emotional that stop you from getting healthy. If you ask Him to help you, He will start to give you the strategy, willpower, and victory to get healthy.

We are quick to judge those that are addicted to drugs and alcohol, but we ignore those that are addicted to sugar, salt, fatty foods, overeating, or a lazy lifestyle. We need to be made aware that we represent Christ and that we are the temple of God. We represent discipline, self-control, modesty, being able to resist the temptation of gluttony, and not being slaves to any substance, food, or activity.

Look at yourself in the mirror. Do you carry the name of Christ with this dignity? Sure we can all pray, love, and give, but unfortunately, our physical state speaks loudly about our habits and lifestyle.

I lost 36 kg some years back while I was selling weight control and healthy lifestyle products and coaching others to do the same. One day, when I had been a while without losing weight, my sponsor told me to no longer wear the publicity representing the company. This made me realize how important our image is as we can talk the talk, but can we walk the walk? Imagine how much more vital is the image of Christ we are supposed to represent.

I am preaching to myself first, as I have been unfit and overweight all my life. However, for His namesake, I am convicted to make small changes in order to live a longer life and continue to be used by God to reach out to many lost souls. I`m not saying we should not enjoy life and live only on seeds, water, and leaves… but let us not become slaves to anything and learn to enjoy a healthy and long life for His glory.

“Sherman Owens said when he lost his 29-year-old son ‘God did not take my son – ham and eggs did’. In his book, Ladder to the Top, he writes ‘Your waistline is a collection of decisions, and those decisions can either lengthen or shorten your life.”

You and I are no good for God if we die prematurely or if are always sick and too weak to step out for ministry, spending HIS money on medication.

• Jesus, You are The First Born, The First Fruit, The Door, whoever enters through You will be saved.
• Thank You Lord that You have cleansed us and made us worthy to live in us.
• Thank You that you bless our food and water and take away all our diseases.
• Forgive us for not understanding how important our body and health is to You and Your work.
• Give us the wisdom to change the things necessary in order to live a long and healthy life.
• We cancel right now every addition and habit that is not according to Your will for us.
• We declare that we will change and become healthy, carry Your name with dignity and continue to be used for Your glory for the time you have decreed.
• We cancel premature death, and sickness in our lives right now.

• We ask in Jesus’ Mighty name. Amen
