Why Don’t I Get Healed?

(Romans 8:38 – 39) “For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

(James 5:16) “Therefore, make it your habit to confess your sins to one another and to pray for one another, so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.”

If it is true that God can do anything, then why doesn’t everyone get healed when we pray? Why is it that some get instant healing, while others wait and suffer patiently and die of sickness? It doesn’t seem fair. I have personally walked into a hospital and prayed for a lady that had been admitted for 21 days with ovarian cancer. The next day she was released and the doctors said they had made a mistake in their original diagnosis and it was just a simple urine infection.

Many have tried to understand why this happens and no one has ever gotten the right answer. Some say it’s because of our lack of faith, others that we have active sin in our lives and that does not allow the prayers to be heard, others say that God knows that after we get healed we will go back to our sins.

Some have said that if you are worshipping other gods apart from Jesus, then those false gods will get the glory for your healing. Some say we need to continue praying until it happens and not to give up so easily. Others believe that they have been healed in the spiritual, and will get to enjoy their sick-free, glorified body when Christ returns.

These are all true and valid points, and each situation is different, but we still don´t know what is the determining factor for a prayer of healing to work. I have come to the conclusion that all we can do is to continue to ask and pray, decree and declare by faith, and then let God do as He has willed for that person.

Never give up praying for healing, as we know that God loves us beyond measure and His mercy for us can make the miracle happen. Even if you die from your sickness, He can raise you up from the dead, just because you and others have prayed. This is the power of resurrection through Jesus Christ.

I have been praying for years for God to heal me of some chronic diseases. Do I stop asking Jesus to heal me? Of course not, as I know that His will is for me to live an abundant life, free from sickness in order to continue to serve Him. The key to being healed, and for my prayers for others to be heard is to never stop asking by faith. I am convinced that He knows what He is doing.

The prophet Elisha raised the dead both when he was alive and dead, yet he died himself of a sickness. (2 Kings 13:14,21)

Prayers

• Jesus, You are Conqueror of death, Conqueror of hell, The one who has the keys of death and hell.
• Thank You, Father, that Your love is real and nothing can separate us from that love.
• Thank You that You have given us the power to ask and receive the healing in Jesus’ name.
• Thank You that Your will for us is to be healed and to live an abundant life.
• Forgive us for our unbelief and doubt regarding Your love for us.
• Forgive us for not believing that we deserve to be healed.
• We ask right now by faith, calling upon the sacrifice on the Cross, that you heal me today.
• From this day forth, I shall no longer walk in sickness and it shall be a testimony for all to see.
• If there is anything stopping me from receiving my miracle, I ask you to reveal it to me today and give me the courage to change it.
• Continue to use our lives to heal others through Your Word.

• We ask in Jesus’ Mighty name. Amen
