Who Is Behind Your Success?

(Exodus 17:10-14) “So Joshua did as Moses told him and fought against the Amalekites, while Moses, Aaron, and Hur went up to the top of the hill. Whenever Moses raised his hand, the Israelis prevailed, but when his hand remained at his side, then the Amalekites prevailed.”

“When Moses’ hands became heavy, they took a stone and put it under him, and he sat on it. Aaron and Hur supported his hands, one on one side and one on the other, and so his hands were steady until the sun went down. Joshua defeated Amalek and his army with the sword.”

They say that behind every successful man, there is a woman. This is true for every pastor as well. Behind every successful Pastor there is a wife and probably a mother that made sure he did not walk away from his calling. Behind every top athlete, there are parents that have sacrificed their own comforts. And behind every successful church is a team of intercessors (people who pray).

Behind every anointed message that changes people from the inside, there has been a time of prayer and seeking God for the message. We forget that no matter who is on the front lines, who is the lead singer of a band, or who is the protagonist, without those that work behind the scenes and take care of every small detail, nothing can work out smoothly.

God is not a one-man show, nor does He want us to be one either. God uses angels to put things in place for us in the spiritual and to protect us in the natural. God uses His word to speak to us and His Holy Spirit to guide us. God uses other brothers and sisters to work on our character. He uses Pastors and Teachers to explain His teaching to us. He uses Prophets to warn us and point us in the right direction. And He has always used evangelists to bring us the message of the Gospel.

All spiritual work has to start in the spiritual, and that means prayer, fasting, and intercession. It is God who brings prosperity, who makes others notice us, and who makes sure we are safe from the attacks of Satan. None of this is possible without us first praying, or having someone intercede for us. If we only depend on our intellect, knowledge of the Bible, and charisma we will eventually fail or give up. We need to learn to bind the enemy in the spiritual so that we don’t have to fight them in the natural.

Most of us walk around with our walls broken down and then wonder why we lose those things or people we want to retain and allow those who are detrimental to us to enter our lives. Just like it happened with Moses, find out who are your Aarons and your Hurs who have held up your hands while you were in battle, and start thanking the Lord for them today.

I still have not found a Church that truly prospers according to God’s will and through sound doctrine that does not have a team of intercessors.

• Father, You are the Ancient of days, Lord, who is slow to anger, You are of purer eyes.
• Thank You Father that You have prepared destiny helpers for us.
• We command those destiny helpers and angels to arise today in the name of Jesus.
• Thank You for our praying wives, parents, and leaders that watch over us.
• Thank You for every intercessor that stands in the gap for their church.
• Forgive us if we have taken anyone for granted and not appreciated the sacrifices done to make sure we succeed.
• Forgive us for going into battle without prayer and depending only on our intellect or knowledge of the Word.
• Give us today the strategy on how to pray and bind Satan from our lives.
• We cancel today every plan the enemy has prepared against us or against any child of God.
• We speak confusion over every army of the enemy right now.
• Bring for us those that will help us raise our hands, as you did for Moses, and give us the victory.

• We ask in Jesus’ Mighty Name. Amen
