You Need to Be Fruitful

(Psalms 1:1-3) “How blessed is the person, who does not take the advice of the wicked, who does not stand on the path with sinners, and who does not sit in the seat of mockers. But he delights in the LORD’s instruction, and meditates in his instruction day and night. He will be like a tree planted by streams of water, yielding its fruit in its season, and whose leaf does not wither. He will prosper in everything he does.”

(Colossians 2:6-7) “So then, just as you have received the Messiah Jesus the Lord, continue to live dependent on him. For you have been rooted in him and are being built up and strengthened in the faith, just as you were taught, while you continue to be thankful.”

God is concerned with us being productive more than you think. He clearly wants us not only to bear fruit but to bear much fruit. He is not satisfied with us only getting by with the minimum effort and the average results. He wants us to give it all we’ve got and then He will take that and make it perfect, above average, and for all to give glory to His name. Your failures, your lack of detail, and your apathy towards simple issues like being on time, dressing well, and speaking with kindness reflects on Him.

I´m not saying that you might never fail at something, or not be the best in every competition, but let it not be because of your laziness or lack of desire that you fail to excel in every area of your life. If you get tired during the day and cannot minister to more people, then you should probably start to exercise, eat healthy, sleep at regular hours, and stop entertaining activities or people that drain you out.

We need to completely surrender to His Word, eat it daily, meditate on it day and night, and then we will prosper in all we decide to do. This is His promise for those that want to prosper and be fruitful under God’s direction.

Jesus has chosen us, equipped us, strengthened us, held back the enemy’s attacks, prepared good works for us to accomplish, given us talents to achieve those works, declared us victorious before we even start, raised up helpers for the task at hand, changed the hearts to our favor of those we are supposed to interact with, given us detailed instructions that will make us succeed, given us warnings that can stop us from being fruitful, stepped in when our strength has come to an end… and above all, loved us through every failure we have faced…. Should I go on?

We need to admit and realize that if we are not fruitful for Him, it is because we do not want to.  And the fruit He desires the most are the lost souls around us.

Ask God today to strengthen your roots, and cause you to grow up in Him, and bear “Much Fruit”.

Prayers

• Lord, You are He who dwells between the shoulder of His beloved, He who is seated at the circle of the earth, He who sits enthroned over the flood.
• Thank You that You desire for us to bear much fruit and have provided all the tools to bring glory to Your name.
• We give you permission to cut off everything in our lives that does not produce fruit for You.
• Forgive us for being lazy and not bearing the fruit that you desire for us to produce.
• Give us the strength, wisdom, and faith to grow and continue grafted in Jesus.
• We declare that we will not take the advice of the wicked, nor stand on the path with sinners, nor sit in the seat of mockers. But we will delight in the LORD’s instruction, and meditate in His instruction day and night.
• We will be like a tree planted by streams of water, yielding its fruit in its season, and whose leaf will not wither. We will prosper in everything we do.
• We declare that we have been rooted in Jesus and are being built up and strengthened in the faith, while we continue to be thankful.

• We ask in Jesus’ Mighty Name. Amen
