(Ephesians 2:10) “For we are God’s masterpiece, created in the Messiah Jesus to perform good actions that God prepared long ago to be our way of life.”
(Genesis 1:28) “God blessed these humans by saying to them, ‘Be fruitful, multiply, fill the earth, and subdue it! Be masters over the fish in the ocean, the birds that fly, and every living thing that crawls on the earth!’”
(1 Corinthians 10:31) “Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do everything for the glory of God.”
(1 Peter 4:10) “As good servant managers of God’s grace in its various forms, serve one another with the gift each of you has received.”
Everything God does has a purpose behind it. Everything God created has a specific position in the circle of life. When I studied Microbiology at University, we got to see life at the cellular level. It amazed me how the most microscopic part of any cell had a vital function that made it possible for the cell to survive.
The whole world is one big ecosystem that is co-dependent on each other in order to keep a balance in life. It is when man intervenes and either stops producing or starts to overproduce for personal gain that this healthy ecosystem starts to decay and becomes toxic.
You and I were created to lead and dominate, that is, to take care of God’s creation. We are expected to produce, given the talents to excel at the task at hand, put in a position where we would always be fruitful and produce that which was not only beneficial to us but to the whole ecosystem. There is no retirement plan in God’s workforce.
Even if you are handicapped and bedridden, you can still bring down the powers and principalities of darkness through prayer. God can use you in your weakened physical state to train others by having them serve and take care of you. By allowing this to happen, you produce in them the fruits of love, service, compassion, sacrifice, and patience. Even a simple lifeless stone was vital to building the Great Wall of China.
There is a plan bigger than you, your work is part of that plan, and you are supposed to be producing for eternity. Everything you do or stop doing has to be done to glorify God, and will also influence the next generation to come. God is waiting for you to surrender to His plan today in order to be fruitful for His Kingdom. By serving each other, we start to walk in that divine plan.
(“If the bee disappeared off the surface of the globe then man would only have four years of life left. No more bees, no more pollination, no more plants, no more animals, no more man.“ – Albert Einstein)
Every part of Creation has a plan and purpose behind it. Nothing and no one is insignificant or useless. Every insect, animal, plant, and element is part of something greater than itself.
Prayers
• Heavenly Father, You are near to those who have a broken heart and save those who have a contrite spirit. If I trust in the Lord, the Lord shall bring it to pass. God has spoken that power belongs to God.
• Thank You, Father, for making us part of a greater plan than ourselves.
• Thank You that you have already prepared good works for us to excel at.
• Forgive us for not seeking Your will for our lives and for having wasted so much time trying to fulfill our own desires.
• Teach us how to work with the authority and responsibility You have given men over creation.
• We want to do all things to bring glory to Your name.
• Reveal to us today the specific gift You have given us in order to serve humanity.
•
• We ask in Jesus’ Mighty name. Amen
