Fight Like A Man

(1 Thessalonians 5:17) “Pray without ceasing.”

(Psalms 88:1) “O LORD God of my salvation, I have cried day and night before thee:”

(Isaiah 62:6-7) “I have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem, which shall never hold their peace day nor night: ye that make mention of the LORD, keep not silence, And give him no rest, till he establish, and till he make Jerusalem a praise in the earth.”

A real man does not give up easily on his dreams, nor the ones of his family. He will go anywhere and give up all his comforts to make sure his loved ones are safe, provided for, and with a bright future. A real man also knows when to fight and who to fight. They don’t necessarily always fight by using their fists and words, and know when to raise their voice and against whom. It takes a real man not to hurt someone physically or verbally when they know they can.

As Disciples of Christ, our weapons of warfare are not carnal, and neither are our enemies. We fight in the spiritual against the spiritual powers of darkness. We have the authority of Christ to bind and loosen the spiritual so that it will manifest in the natural. The weapon God has given us is prayer.

A real man will spend time praying for himself and his loved ones. Not only worry about money, fame, or comforts. The best thing you can do for your loved ones is to pray, pray, pray, without ceasing. Pray while driving to work, while in the shower, while walking the dog, while taking the bus, while waiting in line at the bank…etc. Give Him No rest until every area of your life brings glory to His name!

By this I mean, talk to Christ. Tell Him about all your fears, and all you are thankful for, and even complain to Him about everything and everyone. Don’t worry, He can take it all. This will change your life and like King David, you will realize that prayer is oxygen for your soul.

Here is a little trick to help you get started in your prayer life. Take one of your shoes every night and throw it under the bed. This way you will be forced to get on your knees every day to look for it and be reminded that you need to pray before you start the day. You will never again get back up on your feet until you first get on your knees.

Get on your knees and fight like a man.

• Heavenly Father, You are He who put on a helmet of salvation on His head. He who is glad with zeal as a cloak. You promise us that weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.
• Thank You, Father, for the amazing power we have through prayer.
• Thank You, for giving us the authority to loosen and bind in the spiritual.
• Give us the wisdom to know when to talk and when to keep our peace when challenged by someone.
• Forgive us for ignoring our time of prayer and for depending only on our own strength and wisdom.
• Teach us how to pray without ceasing no matter what we are doing.
• We declare that we will give You no rest until every area of our lives brings glory to Your name.

• We ask in Jesus’ Mighty name. Amen
