(Galatians 6:2) “Practice carrying each other’s burdens. In this way you will fulfill the law of the Messiah.”
(Ephesians 4:1-2) “I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, urge you to live in a way that is worthy of the calling to which you have been called, demonstrating all expressions of humility, gentleness, and patience, accepting one another in love.”
The best way to forget your own problems is to start to help others with theirs. Our limitations, pain from the past, or even current suffering can take up most of our day and stop us from moving forward in life. We need to stop becoming a victim and learn to live as an overcomer by making sure our lives help others. By making everything a spiritual problem or blaming Satan or even God for them, you avoid recognizing that we all can make mistakes in the natural. Once you accept that you are still human and affected by your human needs and fears, you will have the love needed to understand the pain of others.
By caring and loving others, we learn not only to use our lives for others but at the same time obey the commandment of Christ. And guess what, by obeying God, He makes sure we are taken care of. In my opinion, that’s a good trade as God can do much more for me than what I can do for others.
If you need healing, start praying for others to get healed. If you need financial provision, start giving to others as well as praying for their needs. If you need unity and love in your family, start praying for the families in your church…I think you get my point. As you give, so shall it be given back to you by God.
Carrying each other’s burdens does not only mean having empathy for them but actually fighting shoulder to shoulder with them both in the spiritual and the natural. Not just words, but action. Being available to listen to their pain for hours, making their life easier by helping them with daily chores, taking them out to eat, helping with their bills, and loving them when others have rejected them. Simply calling up regularly and asking how they are doing can completely help them get through the day.
The most important aspect of caring for others is not to automatically judge them, no matter how many times they trip over the same stone. God shows grace towards you on a daily basis, so you need to do the same. Christ restored everyone who failed Him back to Himself, no matter how many times they failed. Those that come back to church, have come to the right place as it is a hospital for the spiritually sick.
If someone returns to Christ, rejoice, for they might be the next person God will use to transform you and help you heal from your own past.
Prayers
- Heavenly Father, You are the one who is exalted above the heavens. The God who is exalted by His power, and the head of all principality and power.
- Thank You, Father, for showing us love, forgiveness, and grace beyond our imagination.
- Thank You, for always receiving us back to You when we repent and return.
- Forgive us for not having the compassion and love for others in the same measure as You have shown towards us.
- Forgive us for being so focused on our pain, and for feeling sorry for our current situation, that we are unable to be of any good to others.
- Teach us how to carry the burden of others and get spent for them and their needs.
- We declare that we will start to spend time in prayer for the needs of others, listen to them with love and never try to change them according to our own understanding.
- We choose to demonstrate all expressions of humility, gentleness, and patience, accepting one another in love.
- We ask in Jesus’ Mighty name. Amen

Very good devotional. When we look at the problems of those around us and begin to help them we realize our problems are not of much value and God gives us enough grace to handle our own problems as well
