Go the Extra Mile

(Hebrews 13:2) “Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.”

(Matthew 5:41-42) “And if anyone forces you to go one mile, go two with him. Give to the person who asks you for something, and do not turn away from the person who wants to borrow something from you.”

(Ephesians 4:32) “And be kind to one another, compassionate, forgiving one another just as God has forgiven you in the Messiah.”

It takes supernatural power to act the way God wants us to act. It takes supernatural love to love those that hate you, supernatural compassion to help those that brought problems upon themselves, supernatural patience to endure the injustice that is clear to everyone, supernatural obedience to act the way you are supposed to even if you do not agree with the order given, supernatural faith to follow God whom you have not physically seen or even heard, and of course, a supernatural heart to go the extra mile even if it might be at a loss for you personally.

God went the extra mile for us and gave up His only begotten Son for a people that hated Him, cursed Him, and did not want to follow His commandments. This was obvious when they crucified Jesus and mocked Him while He suffered onto death. They did not know that they were rejecting the one that created them in the first place and sustained them daily.

God makes it very clear that we do not know if an angel has taken the form of a human and if we are being tested by God to see how much of Him is inside of us. This is one of the ways angels manifest themselves on earth.

You have probably had such a supernatural encounter and not been aware of it. A situation where no one was there to help, and suddenly, a stranger appears and changes the situation favorably, to then simply disappear in the crowd. An unexpected act of favor from another stranger that saves you time, money, stress, and even your life. We are required to care for one another because Christ first cares for us.

Jesus commands us to give unconditionally more than what is required without asking any questions. This is the way God gives us all things even though He knows we don’t deserve them.

Next time you encounter a stranger whom you can show favor towards, keep in mind that it might be an angel God has sent to help you with your breakthrough.

• Heavenly Father, as a man chastens his son, so the Lord my God chastens me. Lord, You have chastened me severely, but have not given me over to death. Lord, You have not given us a prey to the enemy’s teeth.
• We will probably never truly understand how much You gave up on the cross through the sacrifice of Jesus.
• We want to be grateful for the love You have shown by us showing our love to others.
• Help us to go the extra mile, and become Your instruments of love, favor, and grace on the earth.
• There is no higher purpose than to be used by You to supernaturally change the lives around us.
• Let us be compassionate one to another, forgiving one to another because You first forgave us in the Messiah.
• Thank You for the angels that surround us and protect us constantly.
• Teach us how to go the extra mile, and to give unconditionally when asked.
• We thank you that Jesus chose us first and that we can now live supernaturally.

• We ask in Jesus’ Mighty Name. Amen
