God Will Stir Up Your Nest

(Deuteronomy 32:11-12) “Like an eagle stirs its nest, hovering near its young, spreading out his wings to take him and carry him on his pinions, the LORD alone guided him. There was no foreign god with him.”

(Isaiah 40:29-31) “He’s the one who gives might to the faint, renewing strength for the powerless. Even boys grow tired and weary, and young men collapse and fall, but those who keep waiting for the LORD will renew their strength. Then they’ll soar on wings like eagles; they’ll run and not grow weary; they’ll walk and not grow tired.”

If you get too comfortable and stop taking leaps of faith, God has no choice but to stir up your nest and make sure you continue to grow spiritually. Remember, one of the signs that an organism is alive is change that produces growth. The same goes for your walk with Christ.

In the wild, those who are the slowest to mature physically are the first ones to be hunted down as prey. God does not want you to become prey to the devil, therefore, He shakes things up for you so that you will try and do the impossible and the unthinkable, just for you to see how powerful Christ is in your life.

If it wasn’t because of the persecution of the early church by Saul, who later became the apostle Paul, the disciples would not have spread as far as they did in the Middle East. If Solomon’s Temple had not burned down in 70 A.D. the gospel would probably have not spread around the whole world so fast, as the Jews were comfortable being in the city where the temple was.

Every revival in the world has been preceded by some kind of persecution or oppression against the followers of Christ, Godly values or His Word. The 2020 pandemic was nothing more than God stirring up the nest. We were pushed out of our comfort zones. There was no longer any security, safety or assurance regarding our jobs, health, economy, studies, or promises made by the government. We had no choice but to wake up and start to live by faith and for the first time in years, many started to look for answers in God’s Word.

(“In David McNelly’s magnificent book, Even Eagles Need a Push, we read these words, “The eagle gently coaxed her offspring toward the edge of the nest. Her heart quivered with conflicting emotions as she felt their resistance to her persistent nudging. ‘Why does the thrill of soaring have to begin with that fear of falling?’ she thought.”

“The ageless question was still unanswered for her. Her nest located high on a shelf of sheer rock-face. Below there was nothing but air to support the wings of each child. ‘Is it possible that this time it will not work?’ she thought. Despite her fears, the eagle knew it was time. Her parental mission was all but complete. There remained one final task – the push.” – Bob Gass.)

Whenever God stirs things up in our lives, it is to prepare us for the next mission. Don’t shy away or be afraid to take a leap of faith.

• Jesus, You are the strength of my life and My light, The Lord will cause my enemies who rise against me to be defeated before my face, My Holy one.
• Thank You that you keep watch over us and desire for us to grow in our faith.
• Thank You that out of love, You push us into situations where we are forced to exercise our faith and learn more about who we are and what we can do through You.
• Forgive us for doubting Your love and Your ways. We surrender completely now to what You have planned for us.

• We declare that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. We can give beyond our capacity, love beyond our feelings, and sacrifice beyond our pain.
• We receive right now the renewed strength for patiently waiting on Your promises to become real in our lives.
• Thank You that from this day forth we will no longer be stagnant and that everyone will praise Your name for the great things we are about to accomplish.
