(2 Timothy 1:7) “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”
(Judges 7:3) “That’s why you’re to ask in full view of the soldiers, “Whoever is afraid or is trembling may go back from Mount Gilead and return home.” So 22,000 soldiers left and 10,000 remained.”
Fear can be a strong factor that can paralyze you in your tracks or even push you to make wrong choices. You can choose a particular career or field of study because of fear of what your parents will say if you chose differently. You can continue in a toxic relationship because of fear of not ever being loved by anyone. You can continue with a certain damaging group of friends because of fear of not having a social circle to interact with.
Maybe you are still letting fear dictate all your decisions in life, and are unable to just say no to some people because of the fear of rejection, or don’t take a step of faith due to the fear of failure. If this is your case, don’t worry, you are completely normal and subject to the most commonly used weapon by Satan.
Personally, the fear of what my Hindu family would say stopped me from accepting Christ sooner in my life. Fear of what people will say stopped me from buying good and expensive things for myself, as normally ministers are looked down at by unbelievers when they have good things or live a prosperous life.
Fortunately, once you accept Jesus into your heart, God promises that this Spirit of Fear is no longer your portion, but rather you can now live in victory through what God has provided for you, which are the spirits of love, power, and a sound mind.
Fear only God and all other fears will disappear under His shadow.
Prayers
Heavenly Father, You are He who justifies me. Lord, You shall bring forth my righteousness as the light and my justice as the noon day. You, O God have heard my vows.
• We stand firm on Your Word right now and reject the Spirit of Fear from our lives. We believe, as Your Word says, that FEAR is not from You and it is not our portion.
• Thank You for setting us free from our past sins through the blood of Jesus and from the mistakes we made out of fear.
• We accept right now into our lives and receive the Spirits of power, love, and sound mind. And we declare that everyone around us shall see the difference.
• Through this Spirit of power, we make a decision today to let go of toxic relationships in our life that are bringing us down.
• We ask that the Spirit of love will allow us to love those that have hurt us in the past.
• And we declare that through the Spirit of sound mind, we will make good decisions from now on and not be driven by what people think of us.
• Help us from this day forth to make good decisions and to no longer be influenced by what others expect from us.
• Just as You put the Spirit of Moses on the 70 to help him carry the burden with wisdom, we ask that You do the same for us and give us an excellent spirit.
