He Really Does Care

https://youtu.be/Ys21OuE0gOw

(1 Peter 5:7) “Casting all your care upon him; for He cares for you.”

(Nahum 1:7) “The LORD is good—a refuge in troubled times. He knows those who are confiding in him.”

Sometimes we seem to forget that God does not get tired and does not need to take a nap. We forget that He is able to handle anything we throw at him. He will not take his hands to his head in shock at what we have done, or get confused on how to take us out of our situation. You and I might think we are bothering Him with our insignificant problems, but actually we honor Him by making Him a part of every area of our life.

God did not just create us and then leave us to eventually become spiritual enough to know Him. He created us to have a personal relationship with us. To be the most important thing in our lives and to enjoy fellowship with us.

When Jesus says, “cast” your cares upon Him, he is serious about the word to “cast”. He is not saying to come and softly lay it at His feet in reverence with rituals and religious ceremonies. He simply says to literally take it off your back and throw it towards him forcefully as you would throw a spear or a baseball. Don’t worry He can handle it and He won’t get offended.

In his book “He Still Moves Stones”, Max Lucado writes, “What matters to you, matters to God. You probably think that’s true only when it comes to the big stuff, like death, disease, sin, and disaster. But what about smaller things? Flat tires and lost dogs? Broken dishes, late flights, toothaches or a crashed hard disks? Do these matter to God? I mean, He’s got a universe to run and presidents and kings to watch over. He’s got wars to worry about and famines to fix. Who am I to tell Him about my ingrown toenail? I’m glad you asked! Let me tell you who you are-you are His child as a result, if something is important to you, it’s important to Him.”

Try the following: Write down on a piece of paper all your troubles. And I mean all, no matter how stupid they might seem to you. Then lay your hand on it and say “Jesus, as per your commandment, I cast these cares upon You and thus declare that I have the faith needed for them to no longer bother me.” Then crumble up the paper and throw it out. Do as often as needed and watch every single problem get answered.

By not understanding who Jesus really is, and what He wants to do for us, we can’t give Him the respect as a Father who truly cares nor complete authority over us as Creator.

Prayers

• Heavenly Father, in You my transgression is forgiven. My sin is covered. Lord, You do not impute the iniquity of mine.
• Thank You, Father, that there is nothing in our lives that is too small to share with You.
• Thank You that none of our problems will ever be too large for You to solve.
• Forgive us for not running first to You because of our pride.
• Forgive us for simply not trusting that you are pleased when we come to You with our problems.
• We present every problem today to You by faith and declare that we will soon have a testimony for each one of them.
• We declare that You are our refuge in times of trouble.
• May we become those whom You know as the ones that confide in You.
•
• We ask in Jesus’ Mighty Name. Amen
