I’m A Survivor

(Psalms 27:1) “The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?”

(Philippians 4:13) “I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.”

(John 8:36) “So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed!”

(Luke 18:27) “And he said, ‘The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.’”

I love watching TV programs about extreme survival skills. They go into difficult situations in hot deserts, frozen mountain ranges, jungles and snakes, crocodiles, and mosquito-infested swamps to see if they can survive them. Some of them compete to see how much they can last in these extreme situations. Apart from the physical stress they face, they also have to be strong mentally in order to overcome the challenges. In life, we too need to be strong in our minds if we want to become a survivor.

We go through so much training, sacrifice, and commitment in order to be ready for these extreme situations, yet we are completely powerless when facing a simple attack in the spiritual. All spiritual attacks start in the mind through lies that the devil throws at us in order to confuse us about who we are and what we can do through Christ. That’s why it is so important to read God’s Word so that we can challenge the lies of Satan.

Once we start to memorize God’s Truth, we can renew our mind, and ignore the lies of Satan. We have won half the battle by keeping our mind strong and focused on what God said. The next step is to use that Word over our current situation and watch it submit to the power of God’s spoken Word. But you will never experience this until you start to do it.

Here are a few examples to guide you:
1.) If you have a hard time giving to others from what you need for yourself, you can proclaim what the Apostle Paul did, “I can do all things through Christ, which strengthens me”.
2.) If you have a family member who will not submit to Christ because of their pride and wealth, you can declare “What is impossible for man, is possible with God.”
3.) If you are still fighting with the chains of a particular sin in your life, you can declare “So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed!”

As you start to memorize God’s Word, your faith will grow and your fears will melt. As you start to proclaim the Word you will stop surviving and start conquering.

• Heavenly Father, You fill the hungry soul with goodness. You are He who sends His word and heals. For it is your Your word which gives me comfort in my afflictions.
• Thank You, for Your Word sets us free from the lies of Satan.
• Forgive us for not preparing our minds to survive the tough situations in life.
• Forgive us for focusing only on the natural things in life and ignoring the spiritual.
• Give us today the desire to read, study, and memorize Your Word.
• We declare that from this day forth we will learn to use Your Word to change our situation.
• We reject all fear from our lives and receive Your promises through Jesus.
• You are oh, Lord my light and my salvation.
• I declare that I am a Survivor and Victorious through the power of Your Word.

• We ask in Jesus’ Mighty name. Amen
