Invest For Your Future

(Proverbs 11:30) “The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and the one who wins people is wise.”

(Daniel 12:3) “Those who manifest wisdom will shine like the brightness of the expanse of heaven, and those who turn many to righteousness will shine like the stars for ever and ever.”

(Luke 12:33-34) “Sell your possessions, and give the money to the poor. Make yourselves wallets that don’t wear out—a dependable treasure in heaven, where no thief can get close and no moth can destroy anything. Because where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”

It is not surprising to know that the great majority of the support most churches get is from retired people. It’s not necessary that it’s because the majority of churches are full of elderly folk, though that seems to be the trend. Apparently the elderly have realized that they are not going to take any of their wealth to the other side, but they can actually send it on ahead. The way to do this is to invest in God’s kingdom, for which God has already given us instructions in His Word.

The Bible is very clear about the fact that after death, we continue to live with either more or fewer benefits, depending on our words, sacrifices, and giving while we were alive. We are also warned that everything we have done will be tested by fire, and only those things which God values will remain.

When Jesus advises us to sell all we have and give it to the poor, He is not talking in a literal sense (though there is nothing wrong with doing this). Here Christ is making sure that we examine our priorities and that we treasure and value more the things of God than the things of the world. By giving regularly, not having anxiety to make more and more, and by not sacrificing our health and family life to make a name for ourselves, we show God where our heart is.

Now, the big question is, how do we invest in our afterlife? It’s very simple, by winning souls for Christ.
As a pastor, I can only reach out to those I am in contact with, or if they happen to watch us through social media. That is why we support other pastors around the world that reach out physically to the souls in remote areas where we cant. It’s a great feeling to know that in the afterlife we will also partake of the treasure we have helped store up through giving to others.

You can either become a soldier and personally go fight to the frontlines and win souls or you can support the training and sending out of those who are willing and able to go. God considers wise those who can do both.

However, according to the Bible, if you have not first accepted Christ as your only Lord, none of this matters.

• Heavenly Father, Thank You for the wondrous things from Your Law. Lord, You have caused me to hope upon Your Word. Your Word gives me life.
• Father, thank You, for giving us the ability to prosper and enjoy life.
• Thank You, that You have made a way for us to store up treasure in heaven.
• Forgive us for ignoring the spiritual and for depending only on the natural.
• Forgive us for not giving the way we should towards Your Kingdom and Your people.
• Help us to continue to support those who are working for Your kingdom and bringing souls to the feet of Christ.
• We declare that we will start to store up treasure in heaven where moths and thieves cannot get to it.
• We chose to become wise and to start to win souls for the Kingdom.

• We ask in Jesus’ Mighty name. Amen
