Losing Divine Vision

(Acts 26:19) “Whereupon, O king Agrippa, I was not disobedient unto the heavenly vision:”

(Hosea 4:6) “My people are destroyed because they lack knowledge of me. Because you rejected that knowledge, I will reject you as a priest for me. Since you forget the Law of your God, I will also forget your children.”

(Luke 12:18-20) “Then he said, ‘This is what I’ll do. I’ll tear down my barns and build bigger ones, and I’ll store all my grain and goods in them. Then I’ll say to myself, “You’ve stored up plenty of good things for many years. Take it easy, eat, drink, and enjoy yourself.”‘ But God told him, ‘You fool! This very night your life will be demanded back from you. Now who will get the things you’ve accumulated?’”

Some years back, I was attending a seminar on how to set goals in life and achieve them. The speaker said, “If you don’t know where you are going, it doesn’t matter which bus you get on”. It made total sense and made me aware of the fact that I had not set real goals for my life. The strategy he gave us was simple but very effective. We were to write down long-term and short-term goals, and the immediate changes we would make to achieve such goals. To have a vision of what we wanted to be accomplished in 10 years, 5 years, 1 year, 6 months, 3 months, by next month, by next week, and finally by tomorrow.

Do you have a vision for your purpose in life? Is there a goal or a desire that drives you to get up and face the struggles of daily life? If you don’t have one, make sure you sit with God and ask Him to give you HIS vision for you. When you receive His vision, you will also receive His strategy, His strength, His favor, and His designated helpers will arise to make sure you make it.

If your vision is limited to your own selfish desires and not born out of the knowledge of God and His Laws, then, they will be limited in strength and favor. You might accomplish all you set out to do, but those goals will not help God’s kingdom, and they might even drive you away from spending eternity with Him.

You might have planned out goals for the next 20 years of your life, and maybe you excel at achieving them without God. But what if today death is waiting at your door? You will have wasted a lot of time achieving many possessions, fame, and honor, but foolishly lose your soul because you rejected God’s calling to accept Christ.

(“When David had a vision, he conquered Goliath; when he lost it, he couldn’t conquer his own lust. When Samson had a vision, he could defeat a thousand men; when he lost it, he couldn’t handle one woman. When Noah had a vision, he built an ark and preserved the human race; when he lost it, he got drunk. It’s your dream that keeps you on track, it’s your vision that keeps you in focus.” – Bob Gass)

No matter what vision you have, or what goals you have set, submit them to Christ and let Him give you the right vision

• Heavenly Father, Oh, how deep are the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God. You do great things past finding and wonders without numbers.
• Thank You, Father, that You willingly give us a divine vision for our lives.
• Forgive us for ignoring that vision and looking at our own personal gain and pleasure of this life.
• Give us today the boldness to walk in Your ways, search out Your goals for us, and reject anything in our lives that is not according to Your will.
• We declare that we will be obedient to the vision You have given us.
• We will NOT be destroyed because of a lack of vision or lack of knowledge from You.
• Help us to be wise in what things we strive to accumulate in life, and not be fooled like the world to value ourselves based on our possessions.

• We ask in Jesus’ Mighty name. Amen
