Your One Thing

(Philippians 3:13-14) “Brothers, I do not consider myself to have embraced it yet. But this one thing I do: Forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I keep pursuing the goal to win the prize of God’s heavenly call in the Messiah Jesus.”

(Ephesians 6:12-13) “For our struggle is not against human opponents, but against rulers, authorities, cosmic powers in the darkness around us, and evil spiritual forces in the heavenly realm. For this reason, take up the whole armor of God so that you may be able to take a stand whenever evil comes. And when you have done everything you could, you will be able to stand firm.

Today you can make it, but you have to want it with all your heart. How desperate are you to win and achieve all that you have desired? Do you have the passion it takes to overcome any obstacle set before you by Satan? You might think you need something badly, but if you are not willing to make sacrifices and face difficult choices, then you don´t want it bad enough.

It will require waking up and spending time in prayer while others sleep. Praying for yourself, for others, and even for those that have offended you. It will require avoiding certain TV programs or avoiding conversations that make you numb to the common filth that most people talk about. It will also require you to work harder than others and be more concerned with every small detail.

What is the one thing you are looking to achieve in life? Focus on that purpose, goal, or desire by asking Jesus first if it lines up with His will for you. Then, when He gives you peace about it, ask the Holy Spirit to show you what things in your life are hindering you from achieving it.

It might be only one thing, but that one thing might be so dear to you that it might stop you from obeying God. According to God’s Word, we are already victorious through Jesus in the spiritual. We have been given the weapons, strength, strategy, and authority to achieve all that God has purposed for us.

If you focus and strive only 1% more every day on a particular goal, in 3 months you will be nearly 100% better at whatever you wanted to achieve. This can be either leaving a bad habit or adding a good one. It’s that simple.

• Jesus, You are Word of Life, Light of life, He who proclaimed the light.
• Thank you Father that we have all the weapons we need to fight in the spiritual.
• Thank You that we have the victory in the name of Jesus.
• Forgive us saying we desire something, but don’t show the effort for that desire.
• Forgive us for being lazy, for not believing in the strength You have given us, and for making excuses when things don’t go our way.
• Teach us how to get rid of those things that stop us from achieving our goals.
• Give to us today a clear vision and purpose for our lives through You.
• Father, I want what You have planned for me with all that I am. Give me the strategy to achieve it.

• We ask in Jesus’ Mighty Name. Amen
